Hit or Miss 3/28/2006

I have been going to SkinKlinic for some time now and I have learned a few things. First and foremost is that your experience will absolutely depend on who is your clinician. I have had both good and bad experiences and each was due to the clinician. Some are honest and some go for the pushy sale. I tried to stick with the one I liked, but I soon found - the people do not stay there long. Three of the clinicians I liked - left! Also, it is not a spa in the sense that it is pampering and relaxing. You go for a specific treatment or issue, not for the spa experience. more

Unexpected results - so I guess its good. 11/11/2005

I was wary that I needed to give them my credit card info but I wanted the free glycoIic treatment. Yes I did get hooked into one of their free treatment offers for first timers...so I took it. They evaluated my skin and gave good advice even though I felt the glycolic treatment was so low it felt like water on my face. When it was time to leave I felt so pressured to buy one of the suggested items from my consultation so I left with a bottle of glycolic moisturizer that I did not even need. The facialist told me to put the moisturizer up to my eyes to get rid of the little bumps I had underneath and I thought to myself " what a quack" who in their right mind would suggest glycolic moisturizer to be put up to the eyes...what if I burned myself. She explained that the levels were so low it would not do any harm. Eventually I tried it...and to my surprise the bumps under my eyes and across the bridge of my noise that I had for 10+ years started to smooth out and disappear after only 2 months of use. I was thrilled! So maybe they do know what they are doing afterall. I don't know if I would pay to get a facial there, though. more

Clinic that tries to be an upscale day spa 8/18/2005

Skinklinic has some major kinks to work out. They bill themselves as a dermatologist's office which they're not. They also try to lure people in with their free treatments which don't do much because the levels are so low. Then, the sales push comes to get you to buy multiple treatments. All I can say is that my skin did not clear up after I did all of the above. Frankly, it's better to find a good dermatologist and stick to that regimen. Go to a real doctor not someplace that has people dress up like them. more

truly a dermatological spa 8/18/2005

this spa falls more into the clinic category. it is not the place to go for a relaxing treatment or facial. that said, you will definitely notice a difference in your skin when you leave. the technicians are impersonal (read: very clinical), but professional. key though is the consultation they do to evaluate what procedure or treatment would be best for you. also, they have great products that keep the effect of the treatment going. note of caution: they require a credit card to hold the reservation -- and they will charge you if you don't show. more

I broke out after my facial! 8/11/2005

They assured me that it was normal but I think that maybe they were a little too enthusiastic with their scrubbing and buffing of my poor abused epidermis! The facial and steam treatment FELT great but after it was all done I felt a little raw and extra pink. After the initial redness and pimples went away my complexion glowed - so in essence it is worth it -- but give yourself a full week after doing it before going to any super important functions!! more

Friendly people 8/10/2005

This SkinKlinic is absolutely fabulous. It's the best place to go and pamper yourself. You can get facials and make your self look beautiful. The staff is always friendly and polite. They make you feel very welcome and the decor is just beautiful. It is definitely worth giving a try. They also have a great selection of skin products to choose from. more
