Hong Kong noodles and veggies 1/18/2006

Looking for cheap and reasonable Hong Kong noodles this is the place to go. All noodles from mi fun (cellophane noodles), hor fun (broad flat white noodles), lai fun (spaghetti like white noodles) are great with either wontons, dumplings, or the roasted meats. Cost around $3.50 - $4.75. Add the steamed veggies with oyster sauce or the sauteed peashoots or asparagus with garlic and you will be very happy. Other favorites Chicken with vegetables over wide noodles and seafood chow mein. I know it sounds weird but you have to order the baby roast pig. So crispy, sweet and leaner than the regular roast pig. Service is so-so. Some days better than others and you might be sharing a table but that is just as fun especially if sharing with a Chinese family. Check out what they are having and you might like it. more

yummy food 10/14/2005

I love going here for a quick, cheap meal. Selection of noodle dishes is amazing. There is the standard chinese cuisine available, but you're missing out, if you don't do the noodle dishes. A lot of place in Chinatown are kind of dirty and some times, this place can be too. Wait times can vary, but if you don't mind sharing a table, then you can usually have your meal a little bit faster. Prices are really reasonable and portions are just about right. more

Delicious Noodle Soups 8/11/2005

One of the best noodle soup restaurant around New York City. On the plus side it's even open late at night for the night birds. It serves roast pork, roast duck, fish ball, seafood noodle soup, and etc. Although known for its noodles customers can also order rice dishes as well. The only downside may be the service. Especially for those who are use to service staff coming by every now and then to make sure everything is going okay, be prepared for just minimal service and be patient. However to make up for the lack of service the food is great, CHEAP, and filling. Can't go wrong with that! more

Great for Late Night. 8/9/2005

This is one of the only restaurants in Chinatown that is open late even until 4 am. They're suppositely known for their Noodle Soups, but people also come here for other dishes such as their baby roast pig and soft shell crabs. They have their cheap dishes as well as their more expensive ones such as soft shell crabs. I usually come here only because everything else is closed. The service isn't that great here. The waiters are okay, but once in a while you'll come across a really mean cashier who does everything her way. Such as if you ask her for chopsticks, she'll say "i've given you forks already". more

yummy and cheap 3/25/2005

Plenty of good cheap eats abound in chinatown but NY Noodletown is a cut above the rest. It's a smallish restaurant with absolutely no decor but the line goes out the door. Many locals do take out here, as you will see while you wait for your table. The waiters are curt but the food is fab and quick and cheap (definitely under $10 per person). It's not just noodles here, although the noodle soups are delic. It used to be hard to communicate with the waiters when the clientele was almost entirely chinese but the word seems to be out on this place so the waiters are now able to deal with non-chinese speakers. more
