They have great chocolate bars. On the upper east side, very rich and upscale, though junk food is by far not healthy. This is located right near fao schwartz. I think that Hershe...

For my daughter's 16th birthday we made a trip to NYC. I had our evening planned with the final stop for birthday dessert at Dylan's Candy Bar. Well, let me say we were majorly di...

Sweets 8/15/2005

I went there after finding it in the Time Out Magazine. It totally had a Willy Wonka feel to it. The candy there is expensive only if you your bag gets heavier with your choices. This place is better that the Candyland in Toys R Us in Times Square because of the variety of candy from chocolate to gummy. It is worth spending money but not too much like over $20. more

Nice but overpriced 8/13/2005

When I first walked into Dylan's Candy Bar I found a very pleasant candy shop. I loved the large election of candies they have, along with the ice cream corner, the happy decoration and the candy-songs playing in the background. I thought to myself that this is the ultimate candy store. Since then I got to visit few more times and I found that they made some changes to the original store. I felt like this store is king of a gimmick that won't last for long. Moreover, I found many of the candy's to be not fresh and also highly overpriced, a thing that to my opinion keeps the kids away from the place. more

Upper East Side Candy Emporium 8/11/2005

A beautifully decorated bright eye-catching candy store brought to you by Ralph Lauren's daughter in a great location near Bloomingdale's on where else but the upper east side? The type of store that Willy Wonka would delight in. A tourist attraction but also the place to buy a unique candy gift. Candy is packaged and displayed at its best - you can purchase M&Ms, jelly beans all in one color or whatever mix you desire, whatever your pleasure. Chocolate sculptures and whimsical candy from the past also available. Naturally, you must expect to pay top dollar. Parties for kids available. more

It's PMSing heaven! 8/11/2005

I stopped in for a quick look and $25.00 later I left with a vast assortment of hip widening and thigh expanding delights! I was feeling really nostalgic to find pop rocks and other hard to find candy from my child hood. I was really thrilled with the selection. The price was a little much but when you offer me something I haven't seen in years - I'll quickly forgive that! It's a place that I will only visit once a year though - because liposuction is way more expensive than kit kats! more

Yummy!! 8/10/2005

This one of the best place to get candy. It is 2 full floors full of everything. All those favorites as a kid can be found in this store. The sell everything (candy, chocolate, t-shirts, toys, gummi,). I just try there chocolate cupcakes and they are heavenly!! I already have cravings for another one. The also have ice cream.. yumm.. The people are really energic and friendly there. They also have an M&M center where you can have phrases on the M&M for weddings or partys. more

Yummy candy 7/9/2005

Right across from Bloomingdales is this wonderful candy emporium. Hundreds of different candies are available, just fill a bag up and have them weigh it and you're on your way. In the basement they have a party room for birthdays, an amazing selection of Pez dispensers and a neat display of old candy artifacts. Kids love this place and dropping by before a trip to the movies to fill up a bag is a fun way to personalize you're movie munching experience. Keep in mind that Dylan's is a bit more expensive than your average bag and buy candy shop but you are getting a wee bit of exciting ambience. more

  • This rainbow-striped, two-story confection--courtesy of Ralph Lauren's daughter Dylan and Jeff Rubin of FAO Schwartz--attracts crowds of kids and kids-at-heart. Midtowners sweeten their day with double-dip cones, relaxing on a peppermint-swirl stool to a sugar-coated soundtrack of oldies and vintage candy jingles. Stop by the main floor's ice cream parlor for a scoop of "Animal Crackers" or "Candy Bar Blast." Then stroll down the stairs (in which assorted gummy candies seem to float) to the real treat: An entire wall devoted to Pez, another for battery-powered spinning lollipops and endless bins of custom-flavored Skittles and M&Ms.
