This place is just gorgeous! Haven't had that much fun in a last couple of years... Don't know what else to say other people reviews say it all. A+

Worst

I come to Comix each time I fly in to NYC. There are a ton of comedy clubs in this country, but there are none that are nearly as nice as Comix USED TO BE! The food was so good on...

Gorgeous Place!!! 12/29/2010

This place is just gorgeous! Haven't had that much fun in a last couple of years... Don't know what else to say other people reviews say it all. A+ more

Great comics are at Comix 6/23/2010

Cream of the crop comics are always on the calendar at Comix. Located one block from the A, C, E at 14th St, this club is sure to show you a good time. It's a very professional atmosphere, geared towards ensuring the comedians get the full attention of the audience -- even with waiters and waitresses running around. Things can get pricey with the cost of the ticket, food and the two drink minimum, so watch what you get. Pros: Great comedians Cons: Can get expensive more

A great time 6/1/2010

I went to see Donald Glover at Comix, and the experience was tremendous! The place was packed, so I was a little worried that the food would take awhile, but the service was great, and the food was terrific. I had a chicken BLT and a couple of Stellas, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. The club itself is amazing: an enormous room with nice mood lighting, comfortable seats. I’ve been to a few dives to see stand-up and Comix is clearly a cut above the rest. The host was ridiculously funny, and I nearly cried when Hannibal Buress was on stage. Donald seemed to never pause during his set, just feeding off the energy of this really great crowd. He had me laughing the entire time! Be sure to get there a little early. There was a long line going out the door by the time I arrived. This club is something you have to see to believe. Pros: great food, funny comics Cons: short wait outside showroom more

Entertainment with your food and bev 5/22/2010

Comix frequently has fantastic headliners in a setting that is intimate enough you can get a full experience. Who wants to watch comedy in a warehouse sized venue? Not a bad seat in the house. Singles : Watch for Helen Hong's Laugh Match show. Riotous. Bonus - they serve real good. Good food. Not hideous boring chain restaurant type faire. In their room downstairs Comix frequently holds free shows. Look for the angst ridden diary readings and the dysfunctional family story hours. Laugh therapy, considerably cheaper than a session with a head-shrinker. Pros: Decent grub Cons: Don't sit upfront if you are going to eat more

Awesome Club! 2/23/2010

I took my wife to see Tom Green this past weekend, and it was a blast! We hung out in the front bar beforehand and it was incredible: just gorgeous and comfortable and we arrived early enough to catch the end of happy hour ($5 mixed drinks or beer!) I’ve never been a better comedy show: the wait staff was pleasant and didn’t pester us, the host was very good at talking to the audience without making fun of them, and Tom brought the house down! Really funny. I was a big fan of the show, and I think people will be surprised how much fun he is live. I’d definitely return to this club, especially after I saw who else was coming! Pros: Great food, funny comics, excellent atmosphere more

Great Comedians, Good layout 2/14/2010

I was lucky to see World Champion Judah Friedlander at Comix and would recommend this venue to everyone. The staff & bartenders were friendly, making for a postive start to the night. We had some stiff mixed drinks (thanks) at the bar while waiting and the seating process was well-organized & quick. Once inside the venue, almost every seat had great views and we were lucky enough to be front row center. The comedians engaged the crowd. Our waiter was quick to bring us round after round (thanks again). I ordered food and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and speed. Overall, i'd recommend this venue & will go back for comedians I want to see. Pros: Acts, Food, Service, Set-up Cons: Cost more

David The Voice Stein and Freddy Sheffield were Great 1/22/2010

Best comedy show I have witnessed in a long time. My Girlfriend said she pissed in her pants. The top comedians were David ""The Voice"" Stein and Freddy Sheffield. I will be looking to were else these two talented comedians will be performing! Pros: Good drinks and people Cons: Service could be better more

Comedy - not so great 1/9/2010

We went to the free comedy show tonight - and I don't think that just because a show is fee doesn't mean it should be offensive and lowest quality around. Oh, and a tip - singling out the same audience members over and over to target with your lame comedy just makes the comic look stupid, not the patrons. Not a good start to our first American comedy club. Pros: Not much Cons: Shitty comics more

Great Comedy, Great Service 11/25/2009

I went to see a show on Wednesday night, and it was jam-packed with great comics and delicious food. Some of the comedians I hadn’t heard of were hilarious like Hannibal, and Jim Gaffigan showed up to perform! The night was full of pleasant surprises! I read a few negative reviews of the service, but our waitress was great. I was worried at first that ordering food and drinks might intrude on the show, but I never felt distracted nor rushed to put an order in. Great club! Great staff! I would definitely check it out again. Pros: food, entertainment more

Used to be good :( 11/17/2009

I come to Comix each time I fly in to NYC. There are a ton of comedy clubs in this country, but there are none that are nearly as nice as Comix USED TO BE! The food was so good only 8 months ago, but now it suffers. I actually got some chicken raw last time. The crowds are small - and god knows it's not fun to laugh by yourself at a comedy show. I will say the comics are always good considering what they are working with. There used to be a sweet, and cute audio booth boy that had the sweetest attitude, he even at one point actually refilled my ice water when my waitress was nowhere to be found before a show! The staff (mostly) really cared and went out of their way to make you happy. There needs to be more workers like that long blond haired booth boy. I have a feeling that as much as I enjoyed staying in Chelsea for a long days work and to come down a few blocks to see a good show while getting waited on hand and foot is in the past and the staff will keep getting worse and all the good workers will continue to disappear. I think it's worth your time to go elsewhere at this point if you want to get your laugh on. Sigh..... more

A Fantastic Time! 5/21/2009

Went to Comix with a few friends to see Jenaeane Garofalo and we had a blast. The three openers were absolutely hilarious, which you normally don't find at comedy clubs and Jeneane is always great. Fun atmosphere and tasty menu. This is a great way to spend an evening. Highly recommend. Pros: Great Openers, Headliners, Food more

Not the best comedy club 3/5/2009

I went to this place b/c i got free admission for being a student... well that excluded the 2 item minimum which were ranged from 8-20 bucks! (no wonder its free admission) ... it wasnt even comedians, it was just a bunch of videos that i could have you tubed myself - i laughed maybe 2x in the whole 2 hrs i was there.. not funny... i would not recommend this place to go for a laugh. Pros: unnecessarily expensive food Cons: not funny at all, expensive more

GREAT Night Out! 9/23/2008

I went on a first date here and it was a great choice. We saw some really funny comedians and enjoyed some good food. My date had a great time and I'd have to say it was one of the best first dates I've ever had. Yes, we went out again(but had more fun at Comix). Pros: Comedy, Food, Service more

Great Time! Got a FREE ticket during the week when I bought another! 8/15/2008

I live in NYC but have never been to a comedy club. A friend of mine was in town so we decided to go to Comix after spotting it on Citysearch. Also spotted the buy one get one offer on these pages which was goood for weekday shows. I don't remember the comedian names that night but they looked familiar. The routines were very funny and I liked the atmosphere. Also, great Village location in the Meatpacking District so we could wander abut after the show. Pros: Comics, Location, Citysearch Offer more

i feel cheated 7/29/2008

I got tickets to see Arj Barker last Saturday night. They were like $25 plus a 2 drink minimum. On the website, I was told in bold letters to show up an hour in advance. That's crazy I thought but I did. Don't because there was no reason to as it didn't affect seating or anything else except that it stuck me at their very lame bar drinking $12 cocktails. I had a couple and my wife had one.\r \r Then we were seated and the waitress came by to take our drink order. I told her we'd already bought three and she said (of course i knew this would happen), ""sorry, those don't count."" The way she said it with terror in her eyes told me this was a regular occurrence. Confusing then that the bartender didn't share. That's when I first started feeling crummy - not a great way to start a comedy show. Anyway, I ordered two waters ($5 a piece).\r \r The show started and the lineup was fine but they were totally having to fight through this black cloud of bad moods that filled the room. The table in front of us, tourists from Ireland, ordered a bottle of Veuve Clicquot (I don't want to know how much that cost) and even after that the waitress insisted they order another round! She came with 6 Bud Lights (nice after champagne I guess) but one of the party wouldn't stand for this and sent them back. All of this uplifting scene occurred _during_ the headliner's act which did not make him any funnier, that's for sure.\r \r Next came the checks. There was mine with the 2 waters, another $10 to complete the 2-drink minimum and an automatic 18% tip. Oh and there are two green tickets. They won't let you out of the room unless you give them these green tickets proving you had the 2-drink minimum!!! Great, you cheat me and you make _me_ feel like a criminal.\r \r So, a decent group of comedians brought down by a miserable venue. We were out $120 or so and left feeling used and abused. If you go, be aware that having a good time is your burden as Comix isn't going to help you out on that front. Pros: decent lineup Cons: rip off more

EXCELLENT!! 7/17/2008

Top notch comedy acts, good food & drinks and excellent service make Comix my new favorite comedy spot in NYC. I also like the West Village/Meatpacking location. Highly Recommended! Pros: Comedy, Service, Location more

I wouldnt go here again if it were the last place on earth 6/28/2008

the manager here is really rude and the staff too. I wouldnt go here again if it were the last place on earth- Cons: alot more

Very Good Comedy Club 6/26/2008

Top notch comedians, great location, good food and drinks and the service we had was very attentive. I've also been once for happy hour and they had some good drink specials. Highly recommended. Pros: Comedians, Service, Food & Drinks more

Horrible 6/25/2008

Overpriced, tasteless food. It took too long to get our food. Then we were automatically charged 18 percent gratuity. The worst part is that the management was rude. I wouldn't go back there if my favorite comedian was performing. Pros: ? Cons: bad expensive food, bad management more

Classy Comedy Club 4/2/2008

I haven't been down on 14th Street in a long time but when I saw Craig Ferguson at Comix. I couldn't believe that the health food store was converted into this amazing comedy club. Tickets were expensive but the warm up routine and show was great. They will try to get you to buy drinks at the bar prior to seating but once inside the seating and service was terrrific. Plus its nice to see that area finally get a nightlife! Does anyone remember 'The Village Idiot' bar next door well now its a lounge. Pros: Cool Comedy Club Cons: Pricey drinks - waiting to be seated at bar more
