Really helpful real estate company... My deal was very hard to deal with, any real estate company in the city was able to help me. But Bona Tierra found me a very nice apartment, i was very happy, and i would recommend them. The agents there are very friendly, and believe me, friendly brokers in nyc is hard to find... more

I will use Bona Tierra again. They've made my stays in Manhattan much less stressful. I know that they are honest and professional and that I'll be able to find a good apartment on short notice. The last apartment I had was three minutes from work. I haven't had any problems. Strong recommendation.\r more

I am a very busy healthcare professional, and hate the back and forth and indecisiveness of real estate deals. Bona Tierra helped me navigate through the real estate market and cut all the hassle of negotiating. 3 of their brokers showed me a total of 25+ apartments, going around the UES, UWS, and Midtown, and bearing with my specifics, they were able to get me the best deal in line with my residential needs, my finances, and my lifestyle. I would definitely recommend their services without batting an eyelash.\r more

Worst experience ever 9/15/2011

This place is really, really, really difficult to work with. They are only attentive when they are luring you in and then practically fall off the face of the earth and not follow through with their commitment. The owner has some connections which is the only reason they are still in business. They are so unprofessional and extremely frustrating. I will never ever work with them again. Seems like everyone is on the same page. more

WORST REAL ESTATE COMPANY 4/29/2011

I have dealt with this completely incompetent company once too many. They aren't the worst real estate company in just NYC but the entire world. No exaggeration there. Unfortunately I decided to rent from these people and had the worst experience known to man-kind. I was due to move in 2/28 but little did I know my board approval had not come in yet. The incompetent people at Bona Tierra never informed me how long the approval would take and left me in the dust. My lease was up and I had absolutely no where to stay. I asked if I can possibly move in earlier they completely denied me without offering any other options even though the actual lease I signed had a start date of 2/28. If you are currently looking at an apartment that has anything to do with Bona Tierra I implore you to run, run as fast as you can and do not look back. You will surely thank me later. more

Beware: If you have any other option, do not use this broker 2/1/2010

My roommate and I have had the move-in experience from hell thanks to this company.\r \r First, we were supposed to move into our apartment 1/15/2010. Little did we know that we would not receive any information nor Board Approval until 1/22/2010, 3 weeks after we had signed the lease. Only when we drew close to 1/15/2010 were we informed that the lease application had been filed late.\r \r THEN, when we were approved 1/22/2010, we received an email telling us they would start our rent from that day, and without giving us any information on how we could move in.\r \r THEN, when we were able to schedule a move-in date of 2/1/2010 with management, we asked how we could get the keys and lease copy. We were told they would be left with the front desk.\r \r Were they left with the front desk? NO. Once again, we had to follow up with the absolutely incompetent people at Bona Tierra, only to be told that keys were left with the doorman. When we called the doorman, he did not have the key. Finally, Bona Tierra decided to drop off a key to the apartment.\r \r Fast forward to move in day. We picked up the key and tried to enter our apartment. Of course the key did not work. Instead, we were stuck for two hours with all of our boxes waiting for a set of keys that could work. \r \r Instead of admitting it was their fault or even apologizing, Bona Tierra decided to blame Vanderbilt management and get the building to pay the locksmith. Vanderbilt righfully threatened to ban Bona Tierra from the premises. Not only that, Bona Tierra deliberately lied to the locksmith, telling him that Vanderbilt said they would pay for the mix-up. I was there the entire time, and Vanderbilt never said any such thing. \r \r We have been through the most hellish move-in process of all time, and our experience would have been substantially better had Bona Tierra not been involved. We are generally very easygoing and competent people, and it takes a lot to get us to this point.\r \r There are many many competent real estate brokers in New York -- please don't waste precious time and energy on this one. Pros: None. Cons: Highly unprofessional, incredibly uninformative, liars. more
