Good: The landlord owns the entire square block and has a considerable number of full-time staff on-site. The maintenance staff takes care of problems quickly. They handle the recycling, garbage and sidewalks every day. Snow and ice are cleared promptly. Utilities are included in the rent. There is a staff person assigned to every building to clean and check on issues. They accept deliveries at the management office. They're good about renovating apartments between tenants.. Bad: The front desk staff in the office are nasty people (or they used to be; I quit talking to them a while ago and now deal with the guy who staffs my building). The tenants are hit-or-miss. Lots of good people, but these are walk-ups with reasonable rents; new tenants seem to be students, recent graduates and young transplants who don't plan on staying long and don't care if their behavior (especially noise or leaving their recycling/garbage in the common areas) disrupts the entire building.. Improvements: Management needs to take a stronger stand when dealing with bad tenants. This is home for many of us, not simply some place to crash until Mommy and Daddy raise our allowance or we can afford the luxury hi-rise to which we think we're entitled.. Other: Other reviewers have mentioned the maintenance staff is rude. I've never had any issues with them, just the office staff..

You'd think a mall in Manhattan would be excellent. This mall isn't terrible but it isn't the best. They don't have a majority of the stores you'd think a mall in the City would have, and they are redoing a lot of parts of the building simply because they want to improve a lot of it. I mean they have some good stores such as Aeropostale and such, but nothing like the City itself. Alright I guess.

It is hard to speak as a whole about the Corcoran Group since it is basically independent contractors who fall under the name. I can speak about the broker that my friends and I used when looking for a place, Samara Heafitz.
Samara was a great broker. First and foremost, she was honest and trustworthy. I looked at apartments with several brokers beforehand and they all tried to rush me a long and make a decision that I wasn't ready for yet. Samara didn't push my friends and I into rushing through the process.
Moreover, she quickly got a sense of what we were looking for and did a great job of screening apartments so as not to waste our time. She didn't try to get us to look at apartments outside of our price range to increase her commission check.
Samara did a great job of showing us apartments. She is friendly and easy to work with and works assiduously for her clients. Highly recommended!

Try to avoid going to these cleaners. They are rude and argumentative. They overcharge for drop-off laundry. They refuse to explain why laundering a woman's shirt is twice as much as a man's (even when I explain that I DON'T want the hand-ironing they deem necessary because a woman's shirt is allegedly SO much smaller).
Worse, they have a graduated pricing scheme that makes pounds of drop-off laundry cheaper only after 7 lbs. Few people come in with huge batches of laundry, so you're always paying a higher rate. Once, I dropped off my laundry in 2 bags, and they charged me the more expensive <7lb rate on both of them. They refused to combine them, and overcharged me. They also make math errors and insist that we pay. And they have ruined dry cleaning items, and refused to take any responsibility.
After a while, I started going out of my way to use another cleaner, even though it was farther. Avoid these guys!
