There isn't a better haircut to be had in New York. I came in last week on a friend's recommendation, and came out with the best haircut I can remember. Pavel was professional, laid-back and a lot of fun. He also listens - I wanted something conservative enough for work, but with a bit of an edge. He gave me exactly that. I walked out feeling great, and I'll definitely be back. more

Honestly, I couldnt believe how fantastic my hair looked after I had it cut and dried! I have been cursed with the worlds straightest hair that wont do anything, but the stylist i had worked wonders. And to top it all off he took me through the styling process, step by step, and told me what products i should use and how i can do my own styling at home. i have never had a hair cut that i actually liked, but i left the salon completely happy! and even since then i've noticed my hair behaves much better and is easier for me to style. I called and asked to make an appt for an apprentice haircut, only to be greeted by an ultra-rude receptionist, who acted as if she was doing me a favor. They've CHANGED their policies on making appts for apprentice cuts. Not only do you have to pay in cash, but you have to pay AT the time of the appt, and have to come in before hand for a meet and greet. They were laxed about this before, but apparently they've had some people make appts and not show up, but they don't need to punish everyone else! I mentioned that I would not be able to make it to meet them for a prior meeting, and they said I need to FEDEX the $ to them, and once they receive the cash, only then will they book an appt for me!!! After they take your money, and make an appt, YOU CANNOT change it. No modifications, running late, nothing. They make it nearly impossible for you to get an apprentice haircut. It's sad, because that is one of the best things they offered. I've gotten an apprentice cut before, and they do a phenomenal job...but I'm never going back if I need to ship cash to them just to make an appt. That's down right absurd. They aren't the only $100+ trendy salon in that area that offers apprentice cuts. I'll go somewhere else to save myself the high maintenace attitude and demanding personalities. I just moved up to the city and was in desperate need for a haircut. I was so nervous about going to a new salon because i have been going to the same one in Florida for years and was so scared to trust someone new. After doing some research, I decided to call Antonio Prieto Salon. From the minute i called, i was greated with warmth and kindness. I ended up seeing Brian for my cut and Michael for my color, and they were FABULOUS! i have never felt so good! I got the most beautiful highlights and my cut is amazing. Who would have thought I would look good in Bangs!? Please, do yourself a favor and try them out :) Pros: talented, friendly, beautiful salon Cons: closed on Sunday more

This is my first time visiting this salon after many bad experiences around New York City. There is no question that this salon is really a class act... I called in to get a haircut and the front desk staff were really nice and unpretentous, answering all of my many questions and they helped work around my insane work schedule. My stylist, Brian, gave me an awesome haircut un-like all the cookie-cutter looks you get at other salons in the city. I really believe this place is on point in terms of style and attitude. Rude is out...and did I mention that I LOVE the Kerastase products I just bought!!! Pros: Great Atmosphere....no disgruntled employees here! Cons: no tips on credit cards!!! more

(though she did seem to know what she was talking about) Overheard them talking about a contest they were having to sell treatments---I'd be very careful--- For the work I got, I thought it was very expensive and the frumpy housewive cliental didn't appeal to me. I was reccomended to Pavel through a friend, and he is the best. He is not only very professional, but he will give you great style advice and tips. My hair has never looked better! His warm personality makes the whole experience enjoyable, so you will definitely leave with a smile on your face! more

The prices were about relative to what I wanted to pay for a haircut (starting at $100), so I called to make an appointment. My visit to salon was a pleasant experience, but I was surprised when the guy announced my total bill. It was 25% more than their listed rate on their own website. I explained the misleading nature of this set-up, but they just shrugged it off saying that their website was very old and outdated. When I had initially called to make an appointment, I mentioned I discovered the salon on the internet. It would have been appropriate to mention the rate hike at that time. more

Pavel was so sweet, gave me exactly what I was looking for and clearly took the time to pay attention to detail, so my hair looked the best it could. Not only was the cut fantastic, and is very versatile but the way he styled my hair looked fabulous too! I couldn't recommend him more highly and look forward to returning in the future.
