Nice party space 3/25/2006

We had a lovely time at the Velvet Lounge for a birthday party for a friend. The whole top floor of the restaurant is a really nice open space to have a party. You'd never know that the place is upstairs since there is not sign - you have to go into Tai and then there's a tiny doorway leading to the upstairs where the lounge is found. The bar is nice and the space is big. It's sparsely decorated, but the place is nice. The lighting is not particular mood-lighting, but it's a fine place. more

This place won over a first time Thai taster 1/11/2006

As my introduction to Thai cuisine, the Tai Restaurant & Velvet Lounge couldn't have left me with a better first impression. I found the staff to be extremely polite and the ambiance to be quite inviting. The food, though a bit pricey, was rather delicious. I haven't eaten much in the way of Thai food but I know what I like and the good at the Tai Restaurant & Velvet Lounge was quite remarkable. A friend of mine who is a huge fan of Thai food touts this place as being one of her all-time favorite places to eat. So, if you're in the neighborhood and are hankering for some Thai, I highly recommend stopping by the Tai Restaurant & Velvet Lounge. more
