lazy, rude and unprofessional 1/28/2011

OMG, what a lazy operation. I called to delivery, was told 50 mins. 90 later still no sign of it. I called them to ask where it was and they told me they were busy. They never asked who i was or what my order was, they just hung up on me! I called back 10 mins later to cancel the order and they hung up on me again! I called a third time to speak to the manager and he didn't seem to give a damn. As a first time customer of theirs I know I will never be their customer again. It's a shame because we order a number of pizzas every week and love supporting local businesses. i guess that the big chains just know how to treat their customers better. Shame on you Patsy's more

good pizza! 8/2/2010

I was there with my boyfriend, pizza was great, especially with extra mozarella, service is good enough for a pizza place in NY. We didn't meet an outrageous server there but everything was nice and on time. the design is lovely but when it's crowdy there is too little space to sit. I would come back with a bunch of friends to try their pasta, too. more

Not all NY pizza is better 7/6/2010

I dislike Patsy's for its perpetuation of the ""turn good food into haute cuisine"" craze. In a city famous for pizza, that takes some nerve; while the decor lives up to the pricing, the taste certainly doesn't. At this location in particular, New York's characteristic thin crust is paired with stereotypical snotty waiters. While I'm not of the opinion that one borough makes a better pie (they all have at least one standout) or that popular places are bad (case in point: Artichoke), Patsy's does not match up to the competition. Pros: Upscale atmosphere Cons: Pizza crust too thin, very expensive, sauce too acidic more

GREAT PIZZA 11/24/2009

I have been eating there for a while! The food is fabulus espeicially the margharita pizza!! more

Best pizza in NYC hands down! 5/27/2009

Lombardi who? Forget that tourist trap... Patsy's is by far the best! I've eaten a lot of NYC pizza, some good, some bad but none as good at this. Also great salads and house wine. Service is fast and friendly and prices are very reasonable. My wife and I both have had pizza all over the world including in Italy and Patsy's still beats out many of our European favorites!... Best in NYC, probably the U.S., and maybe even the WORLD!!! Pros: Lights, fresh, tasty... perfect! Cons: absolutely zero, none, nadda! more

Great pizza, unfortunate service 4/13/2009

Living in the neighborhood, we've eaten here many times and think it ranks among the best pizza in New York. I was disappointed with an experience on Friday night, though. I had a friend coming in by bus from Philadelphia and he wanted good New York pizza. His bus ended up being an hour late and I called Patsy's before making the trek from his bus at 31st Street up to Patsy's at 74th Street and they told me the last seating would be 11:30 p.m. We arrived at 11:13 only to be told they were closed -- this even though there were many tables of people and orders being taken. I asked about take-out and they said no to that also. Unfortunately, we ended up with a not so good pizza from elsewhere. Having managed a restaurant for many years, I feel that it is more professional to honor your opening and closing hours. Pros: Great pizza, nice neighborhood ambience Cons: Needs to be more professional about hours more

not completely kid friendly 12/17/2008

we once had a thing for Pasty's, especially this location which is located near central park and a great place to take people visiting the city for the first time. recently however, we went in on a week night when the place was fairly empty. our 9 month old daughter had just fallen asleep in her stroller (which is a small folding stroller) and we didnt want to wake her, for a cranky baby is what we would find, making our meal a total drag. when we told the owner that we wanted to have the stroller near the table he began to argue with us, stating that it was a city law and fire code that prevented us from doing so. after we told him that we never heard of such a thing he gave us some lame story about how he pays insurance and blah blah blah. in the end he was just nasty and completely lying though his teeth. we called 311 to see if this was true and for future eating out experiences and it turns out it was all made up. there is no such code preventing strollers from being in dinning areas. the owner didnt want to fess up to the fact that he was just being unreasonable, perhaps so that we would concede and continue giving him business. after we called to inquire with the city, he just came off as being sleezy and cowardly. ironically when we have seen kids there they are out of control and obnoxious, jumping on the floor, throwing things all over the place and being really bratty. almost as though parents take them there to run wild...that seems more of an imposition than a baby sleeping in a stroller...for outstanding pizza and friendly staff and owners check out lombardi's or grimaldi's in brooklyn. Pros: great pizza Cons: below average ambience, terrible if you are a parent more

Great as always 10/17/2007

I'm happy to say I moved back to the upper west side and my first visit was to Patsy's I've lived in the area years ago and I can tell that Patsy's only got better! more

Recent problems with service 10/1/2007

I love Patsy's. I frequently eat at the two near my work and home. The insalata siciliana is delicious, and their pizza is solid. However, there was a problem with the service at this location last week. Pros: solid food, great salads, not too fussy Cons: lots of kids, overpriced, poor acoustics, spotty service more

Cozy Atmosphere, Great Pizza 2/18/2007

Went here with my sis and friend the other night. Great service, great pizza, fabulous bread and olive oil, not bad prices. Patsy's is a great option when you want good italian and don't want to spend top dollar. Pros: Pizza, Salad, Bread, Prices more

Great Pizza and Atmosphere 1/4/2007

I love this place. The food is good and I have no complaints. My two times here were both great. Good times! Pros: Food Cons: none really more

Upset 8/8/2006

I am a neighbor who thinks the food is good at this Patsy's as well as many of the others scattered throughout the city. I am, a times, disappointed with the service but my last experience in this place was very upsetting, especially b/c I actually like the food. Now I feel like I can' t return just in principle. I walked in 40 minutes before closing when there were two parties who had just received their food, one was a large party of 8+ people. I asked for a table and said, ""Are you still open?"" The manager just glared at me and didn't move. One of the waitresses quickly came over to seat me. Before I reached the table , she told me the kitchen was closing and asked what i wanted to drink. She seemed extremely annoyed. I gave her my drink order and she quickly delivered it and took my order. When I asked her for bread and olive oil, she glared at me as if I had asked her to work until 1AM that night. My meal was quickly delivered and, as usual , it tasted great but the waitress literally stared everyone down the entire time. Soon after I got my food and well before closing, the manager then asked the staff to begin lifting the chairs and place them on the table. I was forcing food down my throat so quickly b/c I felt so pressured. I usually don't give in to this but they were all so angry. The waitress never filled my empty water glass and did everything possible to let me know I was not welcome there at the time. The other customers were all getting the same bad treatment. I've been in restaurants when closing time comes and goes. They lock the doors and politely tell everyone do no rush. They treat customers respectfully. None of the customers were sitting around not eating. Everyone was finishing. If they want to be out of there at 11pm, they should close at 10pm. This bad behavior was so apparent and very upsetting. I felt sick afterwards and it wasn't b/c the food was bad. Pros: food is good, very good especially the pizza. Also nice extras Cons: service is really rude more

Great 'fancy' pizza in the UWS 5/22/2006

Pizza here is consistently good. Salads are a delicious way to begin the meal. You should pass on the calamari. It is thick and slightly soggy. Decor is charming. Service is average. Pros: Pizza, Ambiance, Location Cons: Calamari more

New York's Best Pizza 1/28/2006

I can't believe people complain about no cheese sticks? Who has room for Cheesesticks with the best pizza in NYC! Get the pepperoni - YUM - and a family style salad. Great staff. Always great service! I go twice a month! Fantastic! Pros: Now takes Credit Card, Best Pizza, Friendly Staff Cons: No Reservations, Can be loud, small...but cozy more

not worth it 12/31/2005

There are way to many moms with kids and strollers here and the food isn't great enough to make it worth it. I also think the space is too small for the type of production they are trying to pull off. I guess the food is ok. Pros: standard good food Cons: rude mothers, long wait more

Better eat it fast 6/5/2005

I live a block away and go to Patsy's frequently. The pizza is delicious - they use fresh mozzarella instead of the cheap, frozen, shredded cheese common to most pizzaria's. Two complaints- their appetizer selection stinks, it would be nice to get some mozzarella sticks on the menu. Also, because it is so thin, it gets cold very quickly and its not that filling. So eat fast and order a lot. Wait staff is blantently unappreciative of your business but its the best pie on the UWS! Pros: Fresh moz, great pizza Cons: cold too fast, bad service more

Great Pizza! 3/16/2005

Great pizza and fantastic service. There was a small wait, but shorter than I expected. Located at the end of a magnificent block. Very cozy and warm inside.....I will be back! Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Price more

WOW 4/24/2004

Love the scene first off- the place has a character and nice light to it..very fortunate, location wise. The pizza was pretty good and huge. The price very reasonable. We were 4 and got the family size penne a la vodka which was tremendously gigantic portion...a bucket of food literally. We got most of it back at home with us. I would say that all was fine and tasty but the heaviness on my stomach someting that i can't not mention or undermine. The pasta penne was pretty extra buttery, creamy which means a big task to diggest.. tasty at first but i would say that i was full with a slice of pizza and 7 to count, penne...got a little moody afterwards cause was stuffed...lol Pros: good pizza, good service, nice setting Cons: , XLportions more

Pizza heaven 6/10/2003

The best pizza I've ever had! Friendly, attentive service, nice atmosphere, and generous servings of delicious food. Only complaint: they don't take credit cards. more
