I was at the bar on sat night not only did I have great beers(I think there were like 15 or 16 )I ended up meeting people I haven't seen in yrs. The bartender was awesome to. Great bar and a lot of fun and I didn't pay nyc prices more

Other than the fact that the food here is ridiculously tasty (i am truly obsessed with the sweet potato fries), their choice of craft beers is so large and diverse, I swear even a non-beer drinker could find a beer they liked. AWESOME! My girlfriends and I love to go to this place on the weekends...it is a great scene includng the best jukebox that has EVERY song you ever loved! The beer selection was awesome and to get those same beers for $3 during Happy Hour was even more unbelievable. I was there towards the end of Happy Hour and couldn't believe how cheap this top notch beer was. They had a deal on sliders to $2 a piece!! I think the Happy Hour starts at 4 and goes to 7 I will definitely get there earlier next time. You have to checkout this East Village Beer Bar!!!! West Coast Diva in da house with my girlfriend from Sunny So Cal. We felt the need to visit NYC on the coldest weekend of the year to hang with my local friends. We met the crew of about 15 at the East Village Tavern. Sal the bartender was so friendly and mixes a damn good drink. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, we felt right at home. We ordered a good sampling off the menu. The bar grub is unique and tasty and the Mac & Cheese is to die for! Please Fed Ex West! Anyone who loves trying new and different microbrews and some fine food, both apps and dinners, will love the East Village Tavern. I started with a flight of 4 different beers which gave me a nice sampling of the dark beers on tap, found the one Iike best ""Arcadia London Porter"" it was excellent! I ordered some apps from the menu,try the quesadilla, while sipping my porter at the bar and enjoyed a nice relaxed atmospere. I found a great new bar with a revolving microbrew menu and an good place to grab a bite while enjoying some of the best microbrews in the downtown area. more

Stopped by the East Village Tavern last week to support the economy....sampled MANY American craft beers. I liked the ""flights"" offered where you can try 4 or 5 different beers for a reduced price. Bartender was quite knowledgeable and helped me along my patriotic journey. Stayed for some food and the sweet potato fries are amazing. Oh this place you gotta have fries, cheesesteak and sliders with your beers cause the food is the jam and the beers are insane...staff is always good except for when they spill beer all over your head on accident....or maybe on purpose... Great place to go for a satisfying experience. The rotating selection of american beer is exceptional. Good break from the ordinary as far as enjoying a quality beer. The menu stands on its own, delicious food that compliments the beers well, a good step above ""ordinary"" pub food. The staff is timely & well informed on the brews available, which helps if you're undicided or unfamiliar. The atmosphere is great as well, with the front doors open on warm summer nights you get a feel of the neighborhood around you. I would fancy myself somewhat of a beer geek and the EVT does an amazing job of choosing great craft beers and keeping them fresh and rotating on draft. I spoke with the owner who said that they regularly clean their lines . Nothing is worse than going to a bar, seeing a great beer on tap, and getting a funky pour because the lines are dirty. From the several times I have gone to the EVT, I can say the pints are always fresh and delicious. I also like how they list the ABV (alcohol %) on their chalk board so you know when you are ordering a beer that is practically as strong as a wine. \r \r Their food is also out of this world in taste and price. The menu far surpasses your typical bar food menu of chicken fingers, burgers and fries. The thing I like the MOST about this bar is that they serve exclusively AMERICAN beer, no imports. I just recently booked a party there and really enjoyed myself. The place was very accommodating and I highly recommend booking a party there. The beer selection I thought was great and I am a rookie to this new craft beer craze. The different types of beer suits everyone. If don't want a beer the bar is fully stocked. Check the place out. I rarely hang out in the ever-gentrifying Alphabet City anymore, but this is a really fun hangout, comfy and unpretentious. They have a great happy hour, where the well drinks are not juts mixer! I know little about beer, but I know the few I really like and the waitress was great at recommending beers from their list that I would like based on my tastes. I?m very picky when it comes to food, and just because it is bar food, it is no excuse to be ?just? greasy, and the Tavern does not disappoint. The sweet potato fries were delicious (Southern food is my fave), and surprisingly and happily married to a BBQ-type dip. And the cheese steak may not be Philly but it?s great, and very reasonable prices. A simple and welcoming decor, relaxed atmosphere, perfect to forget the worries of the workday. The place is big enough that even when busy it doesn?t feel uncomfortably crowded or noisy. Expect a very mixed clientele where everyone is welcome and comfortable ? PAJAMA BRUNCH!!! What else is better than sitting around in your pajamas all day...Rolling out of bed and going to brunch in your pajamas, hanging out with everyone else in the neighborhood in their pajamas.
