If you imagine yourself in Goa while traversing New York City sidewalks in steamy August, come to Calypso. This boutique aspires to the Sienna Miler in all of us with colorful, eclectic tops, dresses, and skirts throughout the shop. It's a very "girly" shop, as any purchase from this store should make you feel instantly ten times more feminine and ten times poorer. Because the price of that delicately exquisite slip of a dress - for your weekend share in Montauk - will also be the equivalent of half of a month's rent. more

it is a very colorful and bohemian store. they have very pretty dresses. and of course because the store is designer, the prices are crazy. the clothes are really great and are made of really great material. i am sure that it is of a really good quality because for a price so high, those dresses must be a really good quality. even though i can not afford anything in that store, i like visiting it. it is really great to walk around in and to see the clothes they have which are really well made. more

Calypso 9/10/2005

If you like wearing one solid color, like black or brown, this place isn't for you. Calypso sells clothes and other merchandise with a lot of color, which they describe as "Carribean flavored" or like "the urban jungle." If you need something special to wear, and want to look a bit different without looking too "out there," this is a great place to go. Very boho chic, and the salespeople know the merchandise and can help you find the right look. They're also super friendly. more
