I get to NYC several times a year with my girlfriend who loves to make it an afternoon with me here. She's small(36A). This is THE shop for undies that are gorgeous and fit. My girl is "very girlie," not the cotton panties and bra type, which is why we love this place. From lacy thongs, garters, corsets, and bras, to the seductive, sheer fabrics and laces. We're also encouragded to use the fitting room together...nice touch, ladies!
Pros: Very customer focused and accomadating

attention all girls in search of the perfect messy pixie cut!!!i have being getting my hair cut by david s. for going on 15 years now and when he moved downtown to L'Atelier Salon by Morgan and Paul, i was thrilled. it is an intimate place: small without being claustrophobic, friendly without being annoying. the atmosphere is hip but also inviting--i actually look forward to the hours i spend there. morgan is a convivial, happy presence and his particular brand of french charm is infectious. as for david, he give the best short haircut i've ever had--very textured and beautifully shaped, in my case with streaks of platinum painted throughout my ashy blond hair. as far as cost goes, the prices seem to be in the mid-range by manhattan standards, but i have gotten so many compliments over the years that it's well worth it. david has great instincts when it comes to both cut and color, and he's incredibly nice! who could ask for anything more?
Pros: great group of stylists who really seem to care and take pride in their work
Cons: none that i can think of

I have been looking for my wedding gown for Months! So by that you should know that I have been to many many many bridal salons in the DC, Md, Va, and NY areas...I even went to Kleinfelds. But today was my day thank goodness and I found it here. First of all they don't take appointments its first come first serve, when you get there you have to put your name on the list and they call you when their sales rep is available. While I waited for 45 minutes I noticed that they all help eachother out with the clients and also that Saturday is a very busy day and I wasn't ready for that. Well I finally got my turn and since I had 3 dresses already in mind from the San Patrick 2010 collection and they were the only ones in the East Coast that even had such a current collection I was estatic to have them all in one location. They don't let you take photos but that didn't bother me since they had all the dresses there and I could compare them live. I finally tried the dresses on and fell in love with the first one and so did some other girls there as they waited for me to take it off and tru it on for themselves. I must say you HAVE to go here for their wide and most current selection and of course prices!

A woman's boutique that has a very nice selection of dresses, skirts, and tops. The service, sales and bargains on these nice clothes is another attraction to the store. Precision usually has seasonal sales that go from 50-70% off the retail price. Every time I walk by, I can already spot out really cute, light and airy skirts. The negative is, sometimes the displays don't show off the good clothing inside the store which gives a quick impression when passing by.

Trash & Vaudville is actually two stores - an upstairs and a downstiars with seperate entrances. The upstrairs is more goth, with some punk, and the downstairs is more punk with some goth (and also shoes). Darkity dark dark. While the occassional bargain can be found here, being a queen of the night takes cold hard cash, and you can expect to spend big dollars here. They're the best source of Jeannie Nitro's fabulous goth dresses in the city.

as you wind your way upstairs it just gets more and more decadent -- you can find just about anything in this store. my favorite part is the second level where you can hunt for accessories and the first level is the beauty products. it's a must see (or more accurately -- a must indulge)!

CHOCOLATE BAR AT HENRI BENDEL
Welcome to Chocolate Bar at Henri Bendel, a devilishly sophisticated playground, where mod counters and open café seating seem to float within the café’s airy quarters, where the staff is exclusively and fashionably attired in a chic, cap sleeve mini dress by one of Bendel’s favorite designers, Stacey Bendet for Alice + Olivia. Feminine yet eclectic design elements, including creamy leather couches, eye-catching graphics and smooth modernist lighting, combine fluidly to add texture to the surroundings and usher in the next generation of cosmopolitan luxe. Despite the refreshingly modern feel, still a hint of nostalgia embeds itself within the retro-reconfigured furnishings that add vibrancy to timeless style. “Chocolate Bar at Henri Bendel is a contemporary take on a social salon, where our Bendel girl can have a quick coffee or a leisurely meal,” states Ed Bucciarelli, CEO and President of Henri Bendel. “The café offers a new spin on classic New York fare with its own line of savory selections, chocolate sandwiches, gourmet soups and mixed greens—including a revamped return of the legendary Bendel’s Salad.” The café also serves a fine assortment of Chocolate Bar’s award-winning truffles, baked goods, and confections alongside a selection of imported wine and champagne. An array of coffee and tea offerings will also be available, including Ma Rose 1927, a unique green tea blend exclusive to Bendel’s that contains hints of rose petal, a nostalgic nod to Mr. Bendel’s preferred flower and one time signature perfume. Enter a world of irresistible influence and edgy refinement, where indulgence is only a teacup or designer dress away. For more information please visit www.chocolatebarnyc.com
