I have shopped the Gap Outlet many many times. It is always crowded (which I don't really mind) and understaffed (which I do mind). I have never been able to walk up and check out. I've always had to wait, up to 30 minutes at times. The shelves and racks are always a mess. The dressing rooms look like a tornado hit the place. You can get some great deals here, especially at the end of season to stash for the kiddos next year.

My kids call this the "good chicken place". And they are correct. The chicken fingers, wings and salads are wonderful. The fries are good and the slaw, just okay. The fried mushrooms and chips are excellent. The thing that makes this place above any other fast food chicken place is the Zax Sauce. The only bad thing is that they charge if you want more than one sauce.

The food at The Melting Pot in Raleigh is excellent. It is expensive, but we went for a special occasion. We ordered one of their meals. We started with a cheese fondue. Then went with a broth meat entrée. We ended with the most wonderful chocolate fondue. It was awesome. The booths are high backed and offer plenty of privacy. There were people in the restaurant that were dressed up and some in jeans. There were also children. We liked it so much, we bought a fondue pot.

Jones Cafe is also known as Jones Lunch or Jones Diner. They only offer breakfast and lunch. I have never been there for breakfast and only for lunch on Saturday. While it gets really crowded, we've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table or booth. They serve hot dogs, hambugers, french fries and more. We love the chili cheese fries. You can get fountain sodas or old fashioned bottled coke. Your food comes out very quickly after you order. The food is super good and super cheap. Our family of four rarely spends more than $15 and walk out stuffed every time.

At Grill 57, they serve up hamburgers and hot dogs hot off the grill. The shakes are excellent, try a chocolate one. They are usually very busy at lunch, but the food is prepared fresh and fast to your exact order. The restaurant is decorated right out of the 1950's and the pictures on the wall are of local people and places from that era. They offer a state employee discount, so don't forget to ask for it.

Goodberry's Frozen Custard Restaurant does have food, like sandwiches and hot dogs, but everyone goes there for the frozen custard. There are two windows, an order window and a pick up window. The frozen custard is made fresh daily on site, with choices of chocolate, vanilla and a flavor of the day. I really like the sweet cream the best. Be sure and order a pumpkin pie for your Thanksgiving or Christmas meal.
