I moved to Charlotte about two years ago. The greatest angst I had with my move was the process of finding a new hair stylist. My ?hair? directly affects my moods and my level of self confidence about myself. I admit that I have a very personal relationship with my hair?I never feel well groomed if I?ve had a bad haircut. My search to find a new stylist in Charlotte became a real nightmare for me. Before coming to MeI, I had used two different stylists and in both cases, it was a disaster.
The day I walked into Mel?s salon, I had a bad haircut that aged me by 10 years and a color that was not complementary to my skin tone. I am so thankful I found Mel?.she is my ideal of ?perfection?. From my first visit, Mel carefully listened and made recommendations that made sense to me. I left the salon, looking better than I had in two years. She has tamed my uncontrollable hair, including my unruly cowlicks and makes me feel wonderful. Mel is a smart, extremely professional stylist who cares deeply about her client?s satisfaction. Mel has always exceeded my expectations. I honestly cannot pay her enough compliments to adequately reflect how good my hair now looks. I am constantly having strangers walk up to me just to complement my cut and color. What more could you ask for?? Mel is my hero. Everyone at this salon goes out of their way to give you a positive experience. It?s the perfect salon with perfect stylist. Thank you so much Mel for being my salvation!!!
Pros: "Perfect salon" and "Perfect Hair Stylist !!!
Cons: Absolutely None........

Carowinds is in the greater Charlotte area and is just a wonderful place to visit if you're too far north to travel to Six Flags in Atlanta, and don't have the desire to visit Walt Disney Land in Florida.
Carowinds has the general run-of-the-mill amusement park staples of fun, which is to say there are many rides that go very fast and are not for the faint of heart.
Perfect place to take your family, especially if you have kids or teenagers.
Many local Coca-Cola bottlers offer discounts on the back of their cans, so keep an eye out for these discounts if you are in the South, as they're seen quite frequently and can get you a couple of dollars off the cost of admission.

I recently visited Nikko on South Blvd about 2 Weeks ago, and I must say it was amazing. We had a reservation for 6 on a Friday night. When we arrived we were promptly sat in a round booth in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was great, the food was outstanding, and overall our experience was very pleasant. We tried the tuna crunchy roll at our server's suggestion, and it was incredibly delicious. I will tell all of my friends about this place, and I will definitely be back.
P.S. Order the Saki Bombs, You wont forget it!
Pros: Everything
Cons: None that I can think of

We visited Capital Grille tonight for the very first time, it was "restaurant week" in Charlotte so we wanted to take advantage of the three course special for $30 each. We got there early because we wanted to sit at the bar for a bit. The hostess told us our table would be ready a bit before our reservation time, but to sit at the bar, enjoy, and let her know when we were ready to be seated. We sat at the bar and I asked for a Stoli Doli, which came HIGHLY requested on this very board - well y'all were right on! Delicious (albeit a bit pricey - $12 each). I downed two of them (haha, be careful, they WILL catch up to you, not right away though, I was definitely not feeling too hot during my heavy but heavenly meal). They are strong, but excellent. Anyway, while we were at the bar, I believe it was the manager or head maitree'de came over and said "hope we didnt butcher your last name too badly when you walked in, your table is ready whenever you are." I said to my fiancee, how did he know who we were??? (my last name is kind of hard to pronounce). I was VERY impressed by that personal touch. Then, the main hostess checked my coat and led us to our table, saying "I hope this table is ok, we know you all wanted a private table" (I had requested a quiet, more private table in my reservation on Open Table). Again, VERY impressed by the personal touch. Anyway, the service was great, our waitress and her assistant were fantastic. I got a filet and my fiancee got sirloin, both were cooked to perfection and melted like butter on the knives. The mashed potatoes were out of this world creamy... I ordered a glass of wine with dinner (wound up having too much alcohol tonight but that's ok, it was all great), it was excellent, their selection is phenomenal and broad. Dessert was AWESOME - I got creme brulee and my fiancee got flourless espresso chocolate cake. The creme brulee was AMAZING!!!!!! OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING, I'D GO BACK IN A HEARTBEAT! DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!
Pros: Amazing food, great drink offerings, awesome service, classy ambience
Cons: None that I can think of

I've always been a beach lover and now at 32 it shows all over my skin. I sought out Dr. Sudy because of his excellent reputation and fabulous staff (who all have glowing skin!).
Georgia and Dr. Sudy helped me decide to do a combination BBL / Profractional resurfacing treatment to address age spots and fine lines. I was nervous about the procedure, but decided minor corrections in my thirties are better than major overhauls in my forties.
I was told there would not be a lot of pain with the BBL / Profractional, but I remained skeptical (I've never been accused of having a high pain tolerance).
When I arrived at the office, Michelle applied numbing cream to my face. I relaxed for about forty-five minutes - reading magazines, drinking coffee and listening to my ipod.
When the numbing cream took effect, which is an odd sensation, we moved rooms and Dr. Sudy began to work. The numbing cream prevented me from feeling any pain, and I was relaxed and comfortable throughout both the BBL and Profractional. I was able to listen to listen to my ipod throughout both procedures.
There was hardly any pain associated with the BBL, which was the first procedure done.
The next procedure was the Profractional resurfacing. As Dr. Sudy said, "Are you ready?", I clenched my teeth and responded, "No!". But it didn't hurt. There were periods of discomfort (for me around my upper lip), but this was never truly painful, just uncomfortable. Perhaps the most uncomfortable part of the entire procedure is a sunburn-like sensation following the laser treatment. The sensation is very bearable, and before I left the office Michelle applied a solution which made the burning stop almost entirely.
Dr. Sudy and Michelle were very communicative during my procedure, which really helped me stay relaxed. They constantly inquired as to my comfort level, and if I had been uncomfortable they would have been able to apply more numbing cream before continuing (I did not need this). I left the office saying to myself, "I can't believe I was so worried!" I am excited about seeing my skin heal, and I look forward to having healthier, prettier skin.
Pros: caring & attentive staff, doctor doing most procedures
Cons: none
