Best

I am a meat snob. I order the rib eye lunch and was very impressed. Those mashed potatoes were addictive and worth ever indulgent minute!!

Worst

5$ worth of food cost $30.... overpriced for what they offer

We love it! 12/10/2011

Been in NY twice. But first time we found PASTA LOVERS. If we will come back to Manhattan PASTA LOVERS will be our first restaurant. We love it! Kind regards from northern Germany. more

Excellent Experience at Pasta Lovers! 12/15/2010

I work in the area and just recently found this gem. I have been going for lunch 2-3 times a week for about 3 months now and have never had a bad experience. The food could not be any better and the staff could not be any more pleasant and helpful. They also have a nice Happy Hour going every day. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone working in the area or going to Radio City or Rockefeller Center. more

Not the same 2/1/2010

When I first visited Pasta Lovers, it was went it was a small place, child friendly. The table covers where made out of paper and they gave you crayons to draw on the table cover. My has it changed!! My first experience there was the BEST. The food way breath taking, the service was excellent and the environment was calm and relaxing. Now it turned into a more more mature and sophisticated dining place. I think the scenery there is beautiful for a night out in town. The food I find is still good; not what it used to be; however it is still worth the trip. Service down graded, but I believe that is because the place has become so popular. I recommend that you visit Pasta Lovers. You won't regret it. Pros: Love the seafood special pasta Cons: Its not the same service as before more

Terrible Customer Service 12/6/2009

I went to Pasta Lovers on a Sunday night with 3 girlfriends for dinner. The food was fairly good, nothing special. After we got our dinner, our waiter never came back to the table. He never offered us coffee or dessert. It took us 30 minutes to track him down for our check. When we got the bill, they had added gratuity - for a party of 4 - even though the front of the menu clearly states that it's added for parties of 6 or more. We asked for the manager, who was incredibly rude. She said that ""this is what they do for the holidays."" We explained that we were disappointed in the service and were not in agreement with the gratuity. She stood there and stared at us. She finally said that she'd ""have to see, because they can't void it."" She never apologized for the poor service, never attempted to make any save. She also never returned to the table; the waiter brought back the adjusted bill. I'll never recommend this place. Pros: decent food Cons: horrible service more

Good Food, No Customer Loyalty 9/24/2009

I eat here quite often, I work nearby and have had numerous business lunches, work anniversaries, and employee birthday luncheons. Not once, never have the manager or the waiters recognized me as a frquent good customer. I eat in many restaurants in NYC, and a good Manager/owner will recognize my loyalty as a customer and send over a free dessert, or a drink, or a sampler etc... This restaurant sees the Corporate Card and all it is, is Cha ching!!! They are out only for the almighty buck. and please, leave the cheese on the table! Only eat here if its convenient, the food is your standard Italian Fare. Pros: Good food ,Good portions Cons: cheap with the grated cheese! more

One of the best meals I've had in NYC! 3/5/2009

We went to this beautiful Italian restaurant in the heart of the theatre district one night after a play and had a very memorable evening. The appetizers and entrees were wonderful in a very reaxed and beautiful decor. The prices they charge are very reasonable, especially after looking at the other restaurants in the area. I think they could charge twice as much for their food and still not get any cmplaint from me! All in all a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a nice, quality Italian restaurant in a beautiful setting. Pros: Beautiful setting, exceptional food and service! more

Had The WORST itailian food! Why wouldn't you just go to Carmines? 1/30/2009

I looove Italian food and I'm usually not very picky. Ill eat the bottom of the barrel because i mean-bottom line- i love to eat. But this place was just terrible. I my boyfriend took me out to see Spring Awakening and since he knows nothing about resturants and can barely function on city search he let me pick the place. I was in a rush and after reading some reviews and seeing how beautiful this place was from the pictures i thought it would be fine. WRONG. Neighter of the bathrooms were functional in fact someone threw up in one othe the stalls and no one cleaned it. the other one was clogged and almost overflowing. My food was tasteless and over cooked. HOW CAN YOU SCREW UP PASTA!? YOU BOIL IT!!! I was quite sick that night and I urge you not to waste your time and money. Just because its reasonably priced doesnt mean its good. Pros: Beautiful Decor Cons: FOOD more

excellent group service 1/7/2008

I ran a bus trip of 48 ladies to see a play December 16th and we all went to dinner afterwards. The room we were given was lovely and the service was wonderful. I booked on the recommendation of citysearch and was nervous. I worked with Eduardo who gave us a great menu and price. If I do a bus trip again this is where we will go - close to theatre district and excellent food!!!!! We were on a schedule to return home and everything fell into place. Pros: great for group - wonderful staff more

Good Entrees, Bad Wilted Salads 8/15/2007

The place is very nice and a good decorum to throw a nice party. The lunch crowd is mostly the business type with a few tourists. There is no lunch special menu which is a drawback to this place (expect to pay around 15-20 for lunch). Pros: decent italian food Cons: wilted lettuce, high prices more

A Hidden Gem 4/14/2007

We walked by this restaurant on many days looking in at the crisp white linen table cloths and the open brick oven fire place. At nights we noticed that it filed up quite regularly. It was not until we experienced a diasaster of a meal half a block way at Alfredo's of Rome, did we venture in to try it.We were not disappointed! Pros: Great food, great prices,Fair value wine list more

CAN'T BEAT IT! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! 2/22/2007

The ambiance is great - very cozy for a table for 2, but plenty of space and good lighting for a party of 10!The bar sports a huge flat screen and space to have dinner, or a drink. Where else can you get a delicious, authentic Italian dinner for 2 for under $30?? I've been a regular for many years, and recommend it in a heartbeat! The service is great - the waiters are prompt and have been there for years. (I think it's a good sign when there isn't a huge employee-turnaround) It's always nice to see the John's smile, (the very good-looking maitre-d' whose family happens to own the place). I love this place! more

Exceptional restaurant in the heart of the theatre district! 1/28/2007

We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The quality of the food is superb and the portions are more than generous. The amount of choices on the menu is unbelievable. Something for everyone. The prices are very fair especially considering all the other restaurants in the area. The staff is very attentive and the service is very quick. They had a major redesign recently and the restaurant is very comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone dining in the area. Pros: Decor, quality of food, prices. more

WONDERFUL 3/24/2005

As a New Yorker, I try to avoid the touristy parts of mid-town, but this place I would most definitely return to. We tried it after a show, W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L. When we went back it was under contruction, and we were so upset. I have yet to try it since, but guarntee anyone who goes a great meal. Try the Chef's Special seafood and apsta in a pink sauce...mmmmmm! You won't be disappointed Pros: pasta, desserts, wine Cons: crowded after shows, tight seating quarter more
