This an an established clinic that was opened for the working poor back the the mid 1900's. The clinic care is especially long and not well organized. Get there early or you won't even get a seat in the waiting room. Their mission statement is To provide the highest quality, most technologically advanced and consistent multidisciplinary care in an environment where the safety, dignity and comfort of each patient are paramount. In delivering patient care, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary will strive to provide an error-free environment. Unfortunately, they do not come close to living up to their mission. Having surgery in this hospital is a nightmare. Let's hope that Mount Sinai the new owners can do a better job and rescue this hospital from providing care in a manner that speaks of services provided two centuries ago.
