Another Cheslea HotSpot 6/19/2009

So I had a friend in town and heard crazy and wild things about Moonstruck in chelsea, ive been to every other club in this area so figured as a treat when she came into town would check this spot out. I called 3 weeks in advance and booked a table, the obnoxious russian host explained its a two bottle minimum per table.i said it would be 2girls, she said sorry, but 2 bottles. I booked the table and the night before bought some nice new threads, upon arriving we were greeted by a hot, trendy but nasty door person holding a clip board, we thought nothing of it bc we were on the list, he explained our names werent there and gave us a hardtime, he walkie talkied into his service and after 25 mins they escorted us in. we sat down and were greeted by a faux model, she was so cold we nicknamed her ice queen LOLOLOL. after a few drinks we were tipsy and didnt care about the models and bottles, everyone had something to prove, i decided to have the lobster, she had this wild shrimp dish. i must say it was sooooooooo good, but its hard to eat with people dancing and bumping into the table, at one point, gilbert godfrey (a known patron there) walked in, that was our first star sighting. My lobster was so buttery and they didnt supply me w extra napkins, i had to wipe it on my new skirt, i was MAD!! i hope my friend doesnt think this is what NYC is about. Pros: nice looking staff Cons: tough doorman, guest list only more

Had lunch at the 58th St location, thought the food was very good for the money. Not a destination restaurant, but if you're hungry for breakfast or lunch, big portions and good quality for the money. We only ate their once, but the service was very good on that occassion. Pros: Large menu, Fair prices, Big portions Cons: Crowded floor, Limited seating more
