Charming Bakery Restaurant 3/30/2006

Le Pain Quotidiene is just great. You can sit at the small tables or next to strangers at the communal table. The hazelnut spread is amazing and the apricot jam is too but definitely spend your calories on the hazelnut. The coffee is great and it's served in your own little pot and the breads are fresh and delicious. (Some are just too nutty for me.) They also serve pastries, tarts, soft boiled eggs and Belgian waffles for breakfast. I haven't had their lunch yet but they have salads and sandwiches on the menu. This is not for those who don't eat carbs. I like to go with friends and share a baker's basket of assorted breads and try the different spreads. Their coffee drinks are also very good and they sell their spreads in jars. more
