Dip has perfectly decent fondue. Unfortunately it also has a giant screen TV, annoying patrons, over-priced drinks and a stellar business hosting bachelorette parties. There is nothing, nothing that goes less well in my mind with fondue (or really any dining experience) than drunk women screaming about things they imagine to be risqué, and aren't. On one visit, I was even so unlucky to have one of them fall on me. Scary, scary place. Although, the white wine coconut sangria was pretty amazing.

this is one of my favorite cafes in manhattan. it's sort of out of the way, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming wildly popular. when i first started going, it was empty, but now it's always pretty busy - which sucks.
but it's still very cute and has a great vibe to it, which is why i still go there. not the place for quiet concentration though.
the coffee, tea and muffins/baked goods are great, haven't tried the sandwiches.
main reason to go though is just the ambience - it's got a playful yet calm feel to it that's very relaxing. great place to hang out and read, or chat.

It's on the border of the LES and Chinatown, underneath a bakery, and often hard to find, as the block its on is completely dead. It's totally worth it. The food is amazing (I recommend the pumpkin ravioli), the wine list is great, and it's very romantic. Good for a splurge night

I cant justify the price but it does give me the jolt I need to start my day. Maybe the coffee is so strong that other places just don't seem strong enough.
The staff though, is so energetic and nice to you that getting a coffee and the great service, that doesnt seem fake in NYC, really makes a difference in a visit there.
The caramel frappé is sooooo good...so bad but so good.

I was cold and hungry on a Sunday AM, shooting some stock photos and exploring the Village. When I passed Doma, I decided to give it a try. I didn't know the rules so I fumbled a bit. As Yogi once said, you can observe a lot, just by watching. After a few minutes I discovered that you go to the back, place your order and wait until they bring you your food.
After I did that, I sat and did a little people watching until my eggs arrived. Everyone seemed to be writing in a journal or tapping on a laptop. If only my life was that important.A couple of people were doing the Times crossword but they were in the minority.
Early morning Village people are an unusual lot - like were they just getting home or are they so alone that Saturday ended sadly or at least too early? Maybe I should try and sneak a peek in their journals?
Anyway, the art on the walls is odd. The layout a little odd and the style of placing your food order was slightly off-putting but I will go back because the food was well prepared.
A good cup of coffee. An egg cooked nearly to perfection on good bread and some interesting people watching. All for about $10.
Yes, I'll go back but I'll do better because I know the ground rules.

What do you do if you are in the Little Italy vicinity at midnight with nothing to do? Duh! Stop in some of the shops for some dessert, of course! I don't have a favorite dessert place in Little Italy; each one has things that are uniquely good. Sambuca's has some of the best coffee products in that area. Their cappucinos are delicious and their tiramisu is to die for. So stop by if you are in the area, you won't regret it!

Loud, colorful, and upbeat, this coffee house symbolizes its Chelsea home in a very positive way. The walls are covered with bright colors (including one rather odd painting of a clown in the back), and there are tables-and-chairs as well as lounge areas with couches – not to mention a computer with internet access for those who are interested. This is a great place for people-watching, as Big Cup tends to attract people of every walk of life. And did I mention the coffee is good, too?

this is your average coffee place. they have the different coffee you would expect them to have such as cappucino, lattes, tea, etc. it is not a bad place, and they have pretty good desserts to go with the coffee. the prices are pretty expensive. the coffee costs about three to four dollars. i actually like this place. it is pretty unique because it is in an area where there are no other coffee shops like that one. so if you are in that area and are craving a coffee and a pastry then this is a good place to go to.
