Rude bartenders 6/20/2008

Reserved a party here thurs night in the living room area. Great space and affordable drinks; however the experience was ruined by the nasty female bartenders serving the upstairs area. They were unwelcoming, unaccommodating, and actually forced us to leave the upstairs area at 10pm on a busy thursday night. I have never been treated so badly by supposedly ""down to earth and friendly"" staff. If you must come here stay downstairs where the bartenders are much more accommodating. Pros: Cheap drinks, not crowded Cons: Nasty bartenders upstairs more

Best Dive Booze Bar in FiDi 4/29/2008

First, I am not a bot, but I work down in the Financial District and this place is my new jam for no-frills drinking and hanging out with friends. Went there last Friday (4/25) after work and enjoyed a few (lot) very affordable beers sitting @ the bar. In hindsight I really shouldn't be saying this, but whatever, whats a few more friends. Pros: Cheap, plentiful Beer, about 1/100th as packed as Ulysses (although obviously much different) Cons: Divebar, few, if any good looking people more

great bar 12/29/2007

Love this place. work downtown so now we go here all the time. . great prices good bar food espically there mini burgers with cheese!!!! one thing we miss...Michelle. What a great waitress. never had to wait for a drink. she is a big void in the rose and her shoes will be hard filed. more

GREAT SERVICE,GREAT BARTENDER,GREAT POTENTIAL. 7/15/2007

I came here last Friday night with my wife after I took my wife for dinner for her birthday. We noticed this bar and we decided to check it out. Unlike Ulysses this place was perfect for relaxing in and not squashed like sardines as in Ulysses....The most memorable thing was the efficiency of the bartender,Johnny, who is from Dublin,Ireland. He literally went out his way ,when i mentioned my wifes birthday, and made her feel so special, she was so moved. One of the things he done was made up a cocktail for her,and he insisted on her naming the cocktail. She was so thrilled. He mentioned that it is mainly an after-work crowd, but he was going to build up a late night crowd himself. When i told him that i own a bar myself in Brooklyn,he mentioned all the ideas he was thinking of,from quiz nights to music nights.I just want to say that I think that this bar has a great potential to become more than just a lunch and afterwork bar.We ll be definately be back. Pros: great night bartender, great value, very easy-going place to be. Cons: no jukebox,no pool table/darts. more

Best pub in the city 5/22/2007

This is the best bar in the Wall st. area by far. I have been frequenting this place for well over a year and everything about this place is just what you need after work, or lunch for that matter. The pints are always flowing and the bartenders are always up for a good conversation. Pros: Price, Food, Pints, and Dave the bartender Cons: It's an after work bar, so it closes at 2am and is usually dead on the weekends more

Great bartenders, great music, great drinks 2/16/2007

You know that guy who can talk to everyone about anything, no matter how strange or unique their interests? Killarney Rose is that guy. Uptowner looking for a change of pace? Tourist trying to figure out where to go next? Look no further. The bartenders (and patrons) will be able to help. Stop in for a pint or some shots and you won't be disappointed. Don't look down your nose at the food, however; it's top notch, particularly for pub food. The kitchen is open late and you might be surprised at the how utterly reasonable the prices are. Pros: Location, service, music Cons: Could stay open a bit later than 2am more

What happened...change is not always good..not the nightly atmosphere it use to have 11/6/2006

Wow how quickly places can go down hill..What happen to the great bartenders that created the atmosphere in the place..The food is still good, but there are so many good food place in the area now. It's really is missing the personalities...I loved to venture after work have a beer a little food and have the chats but it's seems like it's not just the bartender who are missing so are the crowds. Pros: good for a quiet drink, gurenteed a place at the bar- no one else there. Cons: Ladies toilets are still a mess, changed the two night bartenders. more

Authentic Irish Pub extraordinaire. 9/19/2006

Best after work pub in the city. The price is right and the staff is frienfly and competent. more

No one can visit just once. 9/6/2005

This is the place you've searched for your entire bar hopping life. This place has come a long way from the old smoke filled ginmil it used to be. The staff is the best on the downtown scene and the food is cheap, but delicious! It is something you just have to try to understand. Stop by for the hot steam table between 12-2pm. After 2pm they revert to regular bar food menu. Ask for Pat and your first of many trips to this place will have begun. If your downtown and looking for a relaxed drink or a place to take your friends you should try this one. Pros: SERVICE!, Food, Prices Cons: Parking more
