Good Experience 9/13/2010

In reading the other reviews, I guess it depends on which sales person you work with. I recently (Saturday 9/11/2010) had a good experience at Kenjo's Midtown location working with Dario. By no means was I shopping for the most expensive watch in the store - For context I purchased a Hamilton Jazzmaster Automatic / Chrono / 27 jewel count / skeleton back. Dario was professional, knowledgeable and was not hard selling anything - We came to terms on a fair deal. Overall I was happy with the experience and would buy there again. I have not worked with anyone else at either Kenjo location, but I recommend asking for Dario if you go into the 57th street store. more

Stay Away 2/1/2010

The Scene:\r Fifty percent of Kenjo's clientele come to this sleazy watch store from out of town because most New Yorkers are too street smart to fall for their gimmicks. I have visited Kenjo three times in the past 5 years and their used car salesman tactics have not changed. They will quote you list price on a watch and swear that that is the best they can do because that is “the price”, they then wait and see if you bite. When you say that you can get 30% off list price somewhere else they will suddenly be able to take 10% off the list price and act as if they are doing you a big favor. \r \r Needless to say, they have never sold me a watch. Two weeks ago I visited them because I was interested in a particular watch which had a $1500 list price, while chatting with the salesperson I was informed that the display watch would be the one I would be purchasing because they “keep most of their inventory on display”. I was also informed that this particular watch does not come with a box, or they did not have the box. I have subsequently purchased this model watch elsewhere, (at 30% off list), and it came in a lovely box with a pullout drawer and an owner’s manual similar to one that you would get with a new car. It’s also needless to say that I agree with the previous reviewers.\r Pros: Varied Selection Cons: Prices and Attitudes more

Tourist trap 12/8/2008

On Sat 12/6/08 I asked the female clerk about any special discounts on the Omega GMT 300. She quoted me the standard 15% off. However, there is a recession on and every store is offering deep discounts. When I mentioned that Macy?s was offering a 20% discount plus 11% discount for that weekend, and asked her if she could ?come near that discount? she sharply closed the counter book, snapped at me saying ?I can?t help you?, and walked away from the counter. Very rude.\r \r At a time when mom&pop stores need the selling, this is no way to treat, let alone, negotiate with a customer eager to give them the business. Have no choice but to buy the watch from Macy?s now. Even though I was willing to settle on a discount of 20-30%, just to help a local business. Pros: Convenient location Cons: NO real discounts, rude sales people more

Kenjo - a bunch of used car salesmen 8/16/2005

These guys must work on commission because they only quote the suggested retail price of every watch. If you ask: ""Can I get a discount?"" They answer: ""How much is it worth to you?"" If you want to spend a lot of time bargaining for your watch like you are buying a new or used car go ahead and shop here. I also asked about a replacement bracelet for a watch I currently own. I guess the sale wouldn't be high enough because they totally blew me off. Pros: selection Cons: salesmen more
