My fiance wanted a band to go with a leaf-and-vine estate ring that we chose as our engagement ring, and after conferring with Little King, we chose an exquisite rose gold version of a white gold ring they had on hand, delicate with intricate floral designs and a personal inscription. It is just perfect and bridges the New York scene where my fiance has spent her career with the Missouri farm (leaf-and-vine) where she grew up. We were looking for magic, and we found it, and creation of the ring and delivery was very prompt. Magic again.

My fiance bought my ring in another country. Which meant he got the perfect stone, but also meant it was super difficult to take back for resizing.
In fact, the ring has so much detail that Carl first suggested that we take it back to the place of purchase and exchange it for a smaller fit. Then I told him why I couldn't do that since it would take an entire trip and airline ticket to do so.
So Carl commenced work.
When I picked it up a week later, it was PERFECT.
I was hesitant to leave the ring. In fact I had made an appt to have it resized in front of me because I know of true stories where stones were switched. Due to the amount of work, I had to leave it but this was the first place I felt comfortable doing so.
I had also visited about 4 other brand name retail jewelry stores in NYC and never felt comfortable enough with the staffs' knowledge. As soon as I met Carl I felt he knew what he was talking about.
From beginning to end I felt completely reassured and am thrilled with the outcome.

After we passed all the hawkers on 47th Street trying to grab customers off the street, we visited Oshri and Steve at Global Gold & Silver. They do business in a quiet, private office. They are very friendly and personable and took all the time needed to explain the process and check all the items we brought. Oshri made us an offer based on that day's prices for gold and silver which we accepted.
We left their office satisfied that we received a very fair price and have already returned here to do business again.

I recently moved to New York and was told by several co-workers to visit Doyle & Doyle when it came time to shop for an engagement ring. My fiance and I were treated almost as royalty even though our budget was fairly modest. We were helped by one of the owners (I forget which one) who was extremely knowledgeable and saw to it that we were satisfied with our choice. I have returned on several occasions just to look at their ever-changing and unique inventory. Their prices are very reasonable and I was able to buy a couple gifts for girlfriends for Christmas. We will be going back to choose our wedding bands in the spring.
Pros: Great selection and service. If you want unique, they have it.

My husband and I were doing some Christmas shopping on 34th Street around Penn Station (Macy's area) and we stopped in Diamonds & Dials. I have been looking for a watch for some time now, but have been wanting to find the perfect one; well, i found my perfect Movado watch at Diamonds & Dials!! I really couldnt be happier with it!! Adam helped us and he was delightful b/c he wasnt pushy, just helpful. He let me try on a ton of watches and never seemed annoyed at how long I took to finally decide between two watches!! Im so thankful for that b/c everytime i need to know the time, i look down at my perfect watch and am thrilled!! They have beautiful jewelry, also, and from what I know, they are very reasonably priced. My husband and I will definitely return here for all our future jewelry purchases. We just felt extremely comfortable and like we were in good hands with Adam.

This place was the only jewelry store on the block who would (or could) replace my watch battery, and that I appreciated as well as the speed they did it and the price which was cheap. They of course wanted to sell me some jewelry too but were very nice when I said I didn't have the time and just gave me a card and said to come back another time.

I make sure to walk by this store every day on my way home from work so I can admire their jewelry. I wish I could buy every item they sell! It's all so classic and antique-y. I love love love it. I also didn't realize they have an online store--just found it. I can't believe how affordable some of their pieces are! What a find.

The staff is helpful and with an open showroom, (if you're an adult- and dont need babysitting) you can find everything you want and more. Tons of one of a kind items, standard die cut pieces, design items, gas tanks (with hands on instruction) books, beads and tons more. I recommend Metalliferous to the professional designer, the student and the person who has a craft table in their kitchen. A must for FIT students. If you're in NYC- this is where you shop for findings- don't bother with anyone else for Metal supply. My fiance found D and O through a friend who also purchased a diamond ring for an engagement. We are very pleased in every aspect of our experience. Oshri was very helpful and honest, which made my fiance comfortable in a some what nerve racking experience. I had to go back to resize my ring because it was a little to big for my finger and Oshri took care of everything and had it fitting perfectly in a day. We would definitely recommend D & O to anyone who is looking for diamonds and jewelry.
