If you want to fuel your travel fantasies, go to Flight 001, which has awesome luggage that's both cute and useful (note: not cheap) and a range of silly little travel objects you don't need but probably want. Seriously, didn't everyone want to be a PanAm stewardess when they were a little girl? more

Nifty travel shop in the West Village 5/13/2006

This is a rarety - a cool and trendy travel shop. The selection is so interesting that you easily lose a half hour browsing in this small shop. From offbeat travel guides, to quirky travel accessories, like a zen garden for your fold-out tray on the plane, it's amazing how they sourced all these things and made a store out of it. But it works. It's a fun experience, mixing the necessary items, like luggage, wiith the extraneous - lavendar-scented eye-mask anyone? Worth checking out while wandering around the Village. more

Stay phly while you fly 4/10/2006

This travel accessories store has it all and in funky colors and cute shapes. I first heard of Flight 001 because it was featured in Lucky magazine and I really needed a Passport protector, so I went to Greenwich to check the store out. When the have sales, their stuff is reasonably priced; but at retail, the stuff is a little on the expensive side. Their goods are just so stylist and cool, like the left-and-right shoe bags, brightly colored luggage tags, travel games, and mile-high kits. Be sure to check this place out before going on your next vacation. more

Flight 001 12/30/2005

Great store for all your travel needs: guidemaps, backpacks, sketchbooks, head pillows, vintage suitcases, etc. I love the atmosphere as well. There is always a catchy tune playing whenever I shop here. Has all the latest urban, hip styles with a 60s retro flair. A great place to browse for fun. more

Great for those Unique Travel Items 12/8/2005

Getting ready for that big trip you've been dying to take and want to get more excited for it, then head over to Flight 001. It has everything for the savvy traveler. This is not your usual travel luggage store, but has those unique items that make you a smart traveler. Whether it is passport cases, lighter purses, ticket wallets or a messenger bag, this place has it. It also has a wide selection of travel related books. I love the fact that is shaped like the cabin of an airplane. I wouldn't miss it before any big trip. more

Traveling 8/21/2005

If you’re traveling or know someone that is traveling, this is very fun and hip place to buy some travel goodies. I love just looking around. The atmosphere is nice with good music. They have everything you could need for a trip--guidebooks/maps for all different countries, travel alarms, padded bags for your laptop, and of course, wonderfully made luggage. more

Flight 001 8/19/2005

I love to travel, but I can't figure if it's the trip it's self or the preparation. Right after I book my trip I head to Flight 001 and load up on all my travel needs. This store is a travelers dream. They have everything and then some. From travel mask, slippers, emergency packs for every flight need to luggage. It's a great source for the frequent flier to the knuckle biter. So the next time your planning to jet off to Japan or France, make sure you check out the store that will make that 22hr flight to Japan feel like a mere 10 and help you find the perfect book to help you navigate the streets of Paris more

Cute store for travel accessories 8/19/2005

Flight 001 offers very stylish travel accessories mostly carrying their own brand along with some vintage takes (Pan Am, anyone?). The store is located on a hip part of Greenwich Avenue (near other cute stores). The salespeople are young and hip but pleasant to deal with. Everything is pricey especially the cute little wallets (in all the pretty colors) and passport holders but the store does have sales on a regular basis. Worth a trip before your trip. more

Tragically hip, but a little useful 8/19/2005

This store offers luggage and travel accessories for the hip jet set. Amongst the overpriced bags, you will find genuinely useful gadgets and items for keeping your sanity in airports and airplanes, such as travel alarm clocks and a mini-mouse for your laptop. The décor is in super-hip white and ice-blue, and it takes you back to the late 60’s when flying was glamorous. You can buy bags marked with the vintage logo of now-defunct Pan-Am Airlines (hey, I remember flying them!) and imagine you are back in the days when buying a ticket meant you actually got a seat on the plane, when legroom accommodated people taller than 5’7”, and when security lines weren’t an hour long with demeaning pat-downs. more

Everything you need for hip travel 8/14/2005

From the quirky, overpriced luggage to the travel size sex kit, Flight 001 has every novelty travel item you could dream of, along side useful staple items that are conveniently packaged and sold in just the right sizes. Even if you're not actually planning on taking a trip, Flight is a great place to go for New York maps and special interest books (I always stock up on the little credit card size subway maps -- so handy). Also a great place for gifts -- there is something for everyone. Lots of fun packed into a relatively tiny store -- don't miss it! more
