Dip In! 12/18/2006

What a fun place to eat! This cute little restaurant is perfect for a girls night out! It's a little cramped inside but not uncomfortable. The prices are reasonable and the menu actually has a lot of choices. The appetizer portions are huge, so they're perfect for sharing or even having as your meal. We tried one of the cheese fondues and it was really amazing! They give you a bunch of different foods to dip (veggies, shrimp, chicken, etc.) and it's delicious and fun! Unfortunately, we were too full to order dessert, but I can't wait to go back and try some chocolate fondue! more

The fondue is fine. The problem is everything else. 3/11/2006

Dip has perfectly decent fondue. Unfortunately it also has a giant screen TV, annoying patrons, over-priced drinks and a stellar business hosting bachelorette parties. There is nothing, nothing that goes less well in my mind with fondue (or really any dining experience) than drunk women screaming about things they imagine to be risqué, and aren't. On one visit, I was even so unlucky to have one of them fall on me. Scary, scary place. Although, the white wine coconut sangria was pretty amazing. more

Dip, what a dump. 2/26/2005

On a whim, an acquaintance chose this place for our "girls' night out" dinner. That said, I don't have much to say about this Murray Hill bar/fondue place. I consider this place a joke when the first thing after you walk in, is that they ask you to pull out your id. You've got to be kidding me. The laughs continue when they ask you pay $2 just to check your coat! It was way too loud and young -- is there where post-college, male prepsters and booby girls go? $10+ Drinks were over-priced, small in portions, and unless cough syrup is your thing, weak. The fondue was a joke. One had to dig deep to get any cheese. Though kudos to our server who was especially attentive and heard our orders. I know I couldn't hear a thing! I didn't even want to stick around for desserts -- this is coming from me, a HUGE dessert person. Take a dip elsewhere but here. more
