Vanessa is terrific! This past spring I had surgery for a torn labrum in my hip and she has been working with me ever since. Prior to surgery, I had been seeing a therapist at another facility that just pushed me too much, ultimately finding out that my injury was more significant than she had thought. Vanessa has created customized exercises for me and always finds a way to accomodate my work schedule. Activa Physical Therapy is essentially a one-woman show. It is Vanessa Tory's private practice in physical therapy. I found Vanessa to be very attentive, hard-working, focused, caring and skilled. You will get individualized, consistent, personal and professional care if you go there. She is prompt with her appointments and flexible in scheduling them. I was able to see her after 5:00 pm and on my lunch break as I work near her office, which is conveniently located right off the lobby of an office building in midtown. After six months of going to the local Chiropractor to deal with my lower back pain and my sciatic nerve pain I was unhappy with the results I was receiving, A co-worker recommecded ACTIVA Physical Therepy. I have gone to Activa three times a week for the last four months following surgical repair of a massive tear of my rotator cuff and bicep tendon. The personal attention I receive has been first rate. Since it is a one-person operation, there is tremendous continuity from session to session. I have gone through a series of exercise programs designed specifcally for each phase of recovery (four weeks of range of motion exercises, followed by six weeks of basic isometric exercises, followed by eight weeks of strength building). I just returned from the surgeon's office for a routine post-operation visit and he is delighted with the progress I have made. He indicates my range of motion is excellent and my strength is coming back in the slow and steady progress necessary given the severity of my injury. I've been going to Activa Physical Therapy for several weeks and I feel a vast improvement in my knees and foot. The staff is very caring and helpful. They answer all my questions, inquire about my general health and give me informative answers. The service is very personal and the massages, exercises, along with the home exercises, has really helped me with the pain. Activa Physical therapy is a fantastic facility. The staff is very knowledgeable and all my questions regarding my diagnosis were answered in a simple, easy-to understand manner. I've suffering from low back pain for quite some time. However, going to Activa has helped me a great deal and performing the exercises along with massage and other manipulations has alleviated my pain. Compared to other physical therapy places, Activa is unique because the therapists spend time with their patients and personally supervise you while you perform your exercises. Liked The people who worked at the facility. Everyone was extremely friendly. I was very impressed with the amount of knowledge that the employees here had. I have been in the fitness industry for about 10 years and I was amazed that these people were on the same page as I was in other areas of phsycial well being and not only thier specific field. I personally have a hard time when it comes to admitting that I need help and the staff at Activa physical therapy were very comforting and made it easy for me to express the problems I was having. Very hands on with personal attention. My therapist was very attentive and I had the same one with each visit. Not a mill like so many other places. Good exercises with home exercise sheets.
