You know I read my reviews on my way home from Louisa County. My phone showed me there was a barbecue restaurant in the area and I decided I would give it a try. Boy was I wrong! Google maps led me to the restaurant, that I ended up passing twice I might add. My problem was that I passed it twice because I was looking for a restaurant in this town that looked like it had just gotten it's first traffic light installed. Anyways, I pulled into the lot of a gas station already full of apprehension that I was geting food prepared for me at the same place people were pumping flammable liquids into their car but I figured I would give it a shot. I walked in and decided it would be a good idea to wash my hands before I decided to ingest anything here. I walked into the restroom and was sure I was in a truck stop because of how filthy it was but I was at least satisfied to find running water. So I walk up to the counter and placed my order which consisted of a barbecue sandwich, hush puppies, onion rings, and a cherry limeade. The food was served rather fast and after I ate it I understood why. The barbecue had just gotten out of a bath I presume because when I picked it up it instantly fell apart because the bread was soaked. At least I had a fork. The barbecue was about as taste filled as a piece of wet cardboard. Fortunately I had a bottle of Bill's own special hot sauce on the table. I poured it on my barbecue ready to actually taste something. Fooled again! I am pretty sure it was just water mixed with some thick red food coloring. The hush puppies or ""hush bricks"" as I would like to refer to them were terrible as after I bit into one of them I instantly saw a trip to the dentist in the near future so I could fix my broken teeth. The onion rings were probably left out for a few months in the sun because I did not taste any onion but it was in the form of a ring. The limeade was terrific and very comparable to a one I have had in the famous Doumar's diner in downtown Norfolk. I would have stayed longer to try the pie that was raved about in the reviews but I am sure had I stayed in that town any longer, I would have been abducted by aliens. Simply put, I would keep driving along 64 and wait until I get to Richmond, unless you like vomiting in your mouth. Pros: Limeades were good Cons: Everything else about the place more
