Can you even call it yoga? 7/21/2008

I am a yoga instructor. After 14 years of yoga and 4 years of practicing bikram yoga all over the country and internatinally, my experience with the fremont studio has been quite dissapointing. I was practicing in the front row one day and layed down during one of the poses. This is quite nornal for anyone, at any time to feel sick during class. No matter how long you've been practicing. The teacher said that I was ""messing up the energy of the class"". How strange? I am here for me, my body, my health and my breath. I know my limits and body enough to say when to take a brake. It shouldn't matter to anyone else if I take a brake or not. Their body and physical state does not belong to me. And I hope that other students are paying attention to their body and limits and not what is happening to me or anyone else. In fact, students have injured their bodies simply because they didn't listen to their practice. Bottom line, this studio lacks teachers who truly understand what yoga is all about. They are minipulitive, and want to brainwash their students into thinking that bikram is the only way. Wake up! You are not the kings and Queens of the yoga world. Your just a bunch of coouks who label hot arobics as yoga. Go see for yourself and don't let them try to control you! Pros: Learning to say when enough is enough Cons: Integrity, harmony, truth more
