A Top Rated Doctor 7/26/2010

While I empathize with the woman who was obviously scared to see an older male doctor and know how she must feel, Dr. Young has been treating me since 1998 and he is about the ONLY male doctor I will see. The reason he does those exams is because he treats many patients with a history of CANCER, and I am one of them. I will say he has repeatedly answered me with surprisingly knowledgeable information on nutrition (most doctors only have 3-4 hours of nutrition experience) and contrary to the stereotype of older doctors is at the forefront of modern practices, while having the wisdom of years of experience which egotistical and often wrong other doctors don't have. I generally stay away from male doctors for most conditions, but he is the one exception. When it comes to my life and well-being over discomfort in the examination room, I'll take the discomfort with such a knowledgeable doctor. Pros: 50+ year of knowledge and experience Cons: Just the usual NY wait but not as bad as others more

Brilliant Physician 3/5/2010

I felt it was imperative to respond to aliacole's allegations below. This sort of libellous claim is exactly what makes the internet as dangerous as it is useful. Pros: Extremely Knowledgeable & Kind more

Wrong!Outrageously wrong! 2/4/2010

Wrong! Outrageously wrong! The lady who complained about Dr. Young is 100% wrong. Dr. Young is both a gentleman and a gentle man.He has taken care of me for quite some time, and is always thorough; after all, he is an internist. I know that he has often been the only physician who can nail the proper diagnosis, after years of getting nowhere with other doctors. Pros: Dr. Young-a caring doctor. The first reviewer is WRONG. more

Keep Far Away! 11/25/2009

I chose Dr. Young because he was in my area and on my plan. I then moved so I saw a new doctor. I was shocked that the new doctor didn't have me undress as all of my meetings with Dr. Young had been conducted in a robe, and at times with the robe off and my breast completely exposed. I always thought it was strange that I was seeing Dr. Young for an issue in my neck but he wanted to see my bare chest. It was not until I saw the new doctor that it became clear how unethical and uninformative Dr. Young had been. I learned more on the internet than Dr. Young told me, yet with my new doctor I have learned several nuances and understand my health in a much more comprehensive way. Dr. Young left it up to me to schedule something with a surgeon and further more didn't order much of the proper and necessary tests needed to understand where my body was at with my illness. My new doctor set up a meeting where the surgeon, himself, and a head nurse were all present. I have had CT Scans, bone density tests, extensive blood and urine work, and parathyroid imaging done with my new doctor in less time than it took to get in with my second appointment with Dr. Young. My skin crawls when I think of Dr. Young. Not only because I feel violated by him, but because he didn't move fast enough or request the proper tests. Now my body has the bone density of someone 10 years older than I. Pros: Centrally located Cons: Pervert and not informative more
