The best hair cut I have ever had. When I called to make an appointment, Brian, one of the owners, immediately called me back, fit me in and took me right on time. He spent well over an hour and a half with me, explaining everything he was doing and why. The staff is so pleasant, making sure I was comfortable, because it was my first visit. As I paid, Brian reminded me that because it was my first visit, and also because I booked after reading the reviews on CitySearch, I was getting 15% off, something I would not have known if he had not told me. I have had two people ask me already where I got my hair cut. I just cannot say enough about this great place. Try it, you'll love it! Pros: Spacious, airy and filled with light. Lots of room, stylists not packed together. more

Wow Im so happy i found a nice salon with great service for a great price. You really do get what you pay for here and i recommend it to all of my friends because a great hair cut can do a lot. I was so happy with my results and the fact that they gave me 10 days to ""test drive"" my hair also gave me a sense that they really do care about my satisfaction! I just moved the city and i've been looking for a nice salon where i can come in and feel confident because i know the staff there are friendly and professional. So if you want a place where you don't feel pressured and you want a great hair cut and dye this is the place!! Pros: Close to transportation Cons: Appointment only more

BEST hair experience I've ever had 4/14/2007

I had horrible highlights done somewhere else, so I went into Wayne Thomas to see if they could fix them. Not only was EVERY person in the salon friendly, funny, and professional, but my hair looks absolutely wonderful! The people who work there are hair geniuses and they truly care about their clients and their clients? hair - I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone! fantastic haircut, friendly service, clean salon 9/11/2006

I went to wayne thomas salon this morning and saw Michelle for a haircut. She was FANTASTIC. Super-friendly and funny and took her time with my hair, telling me exactly what she was going to do before she started cutting. I have long, thin hair and am always nervous about losing the length, Michelle cut my hair without losing precious length but did such a fantastic cut that my naturally fine hair suddenly looks THICK. I walked out of there looking like I have three times the hair I had when I went in. Highly recommended! Pros: Clean, nice, offered free beverages more

The best hair salon I've ever experienced!!! 8/3/2006

I loved the service I received at Wayne Thomas. Everyone was professional and friendly. The staff not only took the time to discuss what I wanted but they also made suggestions that worked to make the most of my hair style. I love my cut and color. When I left, I barely walked a block before someone passed me and complimented my hair. Wayne Thomas has made a permanent customer out of me and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to look hip and hot. Also, brides to be, if you're looking for the best style for the most memorable day of your life then go to Wayne Thomas. They are doing my hair for my wedding and I'm so excited about the style they created for me that now I'm even more excited about my wedding. more

Best customer service. 7/30/2006

I recently needed a cut and color, but I am not from NYC and was afraid to stray from my stylist at home. However, my roots were so bad so I went here and Diana did my cut and color. Not only was she awesome, as well as the service and staff, my hair came out fun and hip. The color came out sunny blonde, just the way I Like it. The owners are very hands on here and review all the hair cuts, etc. This salon had a very personal feel to it. I loved the experience, as well as the wine and the diet coke. more

Great artists you can trust with you hair! 7/25/2006

After I had moved to New York and have survived several salon visit disasters (which were expensive and accompanied by the super snooty arrogant attitudes one often comes across in the city in places that want to present themselves as trendy and fashionable), I resigned to having to wait for my next trip to Paris to go to the hairdresser. If it sounds quite extravagant, it indeed was! I have long and extremely flat and liveless hair and a very round face and... very little time to dedicate to styling in the morning -- a combination that requires high precision, skill and artistic vision from the hairstylist. Since I could not realistically go to my hairdresser in Paris every single time I needed a haircut, I decided to give it another shot in New York. MILA DID WONDERS WITH MY HAIR!!! She cut my hair BEATIFULLY: the proportions of the layers are perfect, the hair feels and looks full and bouncy, the layers around my face are extremely flattering and I don't have to do anything with my hair but let it dry on its own! Best hair cut yet in New York 7/22/2006

Since moving to New York I have had the hardest time finding the right place to get my hair cut. Finally, I have found the spot, no waiting in lines or being ignored. The customer service was great at Wayne Thomas. I was made to feel welcome and at home, not like another time slot taken. Felix did a great job on my cut, he was able to understand what look I was going for. He also was great at not forgetting any little detail. Will definitely return. more

I couldn't feel more confident writing a review 7/14/2006

I've come to New York the last two summers and always have looked for a place to find a someone to tame my unruly hair. As soon as I walked into the Wayne Thomas Salon not only was I taken aback by how nice an welcoming both Brian and David where but how quickly they were able to fix any of my hair woes. Quick to offer you whatever you need when you walk in the door, water green tea, even a cheese burger if youd want it, the staff truly makes you feel like your one of the family. I took my mother to the salon and now she is going to be flying back from Chicago to get another cut from Brian soon. This salon is an unfound gem, and I would seriously check it out now before it becomes impossible to get into. more

An oasis in the city 7/7/2006

Entering the Wayne Thomas Salon is like visiting with family. David and Brian as well as the rest of the staff, always make you feel so welcome and at home. Even if you are not a star, you receive star treatment. I'm always apprehensive about going to a new salon because there always seems to be a lack of communication and my hair never comes out the way I intended it to. Not at the Wayne thomas Salon. Brian and staff listen attentitively and work with you to achieve a look that is fantastic!! Brian and his staff are highly skilled artisans. Don't hesitate another moment. I highly recommend this salon. You'll be very happy you made the trip!! Pros: Wonderful atmosphere. Brian and staff are very talented. Cons: Wish they had opened in the the city years ago :-) more

Best Salon Ever! 7/6/2006

From the moment that I entered the Wayne Thomas Salon and met Brian and David, I felt extremely comfortable and received amazing service. Brian gave me a great consultation. He was very cool, genuine, not pushy, and I could tell that he had great skills and knew his stuff when it came to hair. I went back and got my hair cut, colored and highlighted. He did an amazing job. I have received a million compliments on how great my hair looks (both cut and color) and how well the look that he recommended really suits me. In addition to my hair looking wonderful, I can't say enough about the service I received. Brian and David are extremely professional and provided me with such a high level of service and attention that I am still blown away. I am a salon junkie, and I have to say that this was the best customer service experience that I have ever had. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this salon. You will not be disappointed. Thank heaven for Wayne Thomas Salon. 6/29/2006

Being new to the city and having had a recent colour disaster at another salon, I happened across Wayne Thomas Salon and immediately fell in love. Brian is a colour master and had me looking not only human again but absolutely flipping gorgeous, and if that wasn't enough, he and David were so lovely and friendly that I didn't want to leave. Me and my boyfriend were regular visitors while we lived in the US and since moving back to the UK, we refuse to have our hair looked after by anyone else so are already plannning regular trips back. I cannot recommend the salon highly enough. Go and see Brian and David, you'll be delighted you did. Pros: Friendly atmosphere and great skill. Cons: It's in Manhattan and not in London where I now live. more

Brian is the BEST in the city!! 6/28/2006

There are not enough good things to say about Brian, David, and the Wayne Thomas Salon experience. Being new to NYC, I was nervous finding a new stylist. I would travel back to my old salon on Newbury Street in Boston monthly before finding Wayne Thomas. All I can say is that Brian is the best kept secret in New York. Talented beyond belief (gives me the best haircut I have ever had), friendly, and funny, Brian puts you at ease the minute you sit in his chair. He is the first stylist that I will sit in the chair, say ""do what you want,"" and completely trust that I will look great. Brian's business partner, David, is always there to welcome you with a smile and make you feel right at home. more
