The Village SCANDAL is the perfect name for this store. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I sincerely recommend NOT shopping here. \r
I gave a cash deposit in order for them to get in a hat in a size they didn?t have in stock. Then when they couldn?t get that hat, I had to add to my deposit for a custom hat I picked out. After 7 weeks and no hat, I went to the store, the sales girl looked all over for the hat, clearly it had never been made, so I asked for my money back (I mean what good is a straw hat in September after all!). I was told I could only have a store credit, well....I wasn?t returning anything so it wasn?t a refund...not to mention there was no visible store policy anywhere, and then...well let?s just say mayhem ensued...I was accused by the owner of having reached over the counter to steal money from the register, she called in two bouncer like guys from the bar next door to I guess, bounce me out, she shoved me to try to get me out...now I ask you...why would I want a store credit? The last thing I would ever want is a hat from this store sitting on my head!\r
In the end, after some more haggling and time, I did get my deposit back, even though she did not give me back the full amount, stating that was what her records showed. The sheer fact that her ?records? were incorrect (I have the deposit sales slip which shows how much I did pay) helps prove to me the lack of professionalism of this business, not to mention the glaring lack of customer service.\r
Honestly, if I had been told, ?Oh we made a mistake, we are so sorry, the order got lost, how can we rectify this??, I would have been disappointed by not getting one of the TWO hats I had already tried to get, but I would have felt like they took responsibility and I would have been willing to try to find yet another hat. They could have had their money, and me a hat...but now all they have is me writing this and telling every single soul I know about just how awful this place is.
