Best

Went to the Little Hair Shoppe this past Sunday with my groupon for a professional blow dry. I needed my hair jazzed up a bit for a wedding so Dane walked me through some options ...

I was so excited to get a new haircut and after reading all the great reviews here I made an appointment to see Petra. I have to say I was very dissapointed with the results. Sh...

Sooooo Happy! 5/31/2005

I moved to New York months and months ago, and I've been afriad to have someone cut and highlight my hair (I had a really bad experience a few years back). After reading so many great reviews, I made an appointment with Tracy. All I have to say is that she is WONDERFUL! My color is incredible, and she gave me a very nice cut. She listened to everything I had to say, didn't cut my hair too short and she was a pleasure to talk to. Everyone in the salon was so nice and so accomodating. I will definitely be going back again! Pros: friendly environment, decent price, good listener(s) more

Wonderful 5/19/2005

I love this place! I'm very particular about my haircuts and am in my mid/late 20s and have lived in New York since graduating college. Haven't found an affordable place I liked in the city until now. Tracy and Petra give some of the best harcuts I've had for prices like you get from salons where I grew up in Western NY. Even better, they listen, give good advice, and are helpful either with trying new ideas or making sure things are exactly the way I'd like them. Also, they're great with giving a fashionable, fun, and trendy cut that's professional for business careers, but are also great for going out on the town. You guys are the best! Pros: Price, Skill, Attentiveness more

Ethnic Hair 5/8/2005

The Little Hair Shoppe has been my number one choice since I moved here to New York eight months ago. I found it by chance walking by one day, and it looked so cute and was absolutely beautiful on the inside. What's great is that when I walked in wanting services for ethnic hair, they didn't pry through my hair looking confused and wondering what to do - a problem I often have when salons don't specialize in ethnic hair. Needless to say, they knew exactly what they were doing and they did it very well. I go there once a month now for a relaxer to straighten my roots and every other week or so for a deep conditoner. My hair is in great shape and I owe a big thanks to the Little Hair Shoppe! Pros: friendly, reasonable, great environment more

My hair still looks great 6 months later 4/29/2005

I visited the Little Hair Shoppe for the first time last early Dec, and they did such a great job with my hair ~ it still looks trendy and well-cut six months later! In fact, I love the cut even more now that it has grown out. The staff was excellent and they maintain a very relaxing, happy, aestheticly pleasing atmosphere. They were very attentive and did everything to make sure I was happy with my cut. What I liked the most was their serious emphasis on establishing trust between the client and the stylist ~ I can't praise them enough! Pros: student discount, inexpensive, relaxing environment more

NYC's BEST KEPT SECRET!!! 4/24/2005

The Little Hair Shop, a top New York Salon is still under the radar, on a quiet block on 4th Street in Noho. Petra has a collection of hand-picked top stylists who give flawless cuts & blows - to please! It's chic but low-attitude and surprisingly affordable. Shhhh! Don't tell too many people! more

Awesome hairstyle! 4/24/2005

I went to Beau last Friday for a haircut and he was so incredibly nice! (who says every New Yorker is snobby and uptight?????) I came in there not knowing what I want to do with my layers since my hair is permed but he consulted me and knew exactly how to soften my layers and add more volume to my permed hair. All I can say is ""WOW!"" after that. When I saw the finishing touches, I was so amazed. I've never had a hairstyle like that. I came home and didn't want to wash my hair for days because it is that good! Beau - you rock! This has been the best hair style/cut I've had in....ever!!!!! -Anna- Pros: hairstyling skill, friendliness more

User review by brieyard 4/23/2005

Beau has now done my hair twice...and even my wife agreed that the last haircut may be the best one I've gotten in years. He takes the time to do it right. It's a collaboration between client and stylist. For a change, I felt like someone was listening to me! It's a bit pricey but I'll be a regular. more

The Little Hair Shoppe has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are fun and friendly. Petra has a very consultative approach and didn't push a particular style or any products on me. She listened carefully to my concerns and was very reassuring. Getting a haircut from her is also a great confidence booster. I had a great experience here and will definitely be back again. more

Great place for a cut 4/11/2005

My new salon! 3/29/2005

I have been searching for 2 years for a NYC salon that gave great cuts, no attitude and decent pricing. I have found it in The Little Hair Salon! All the staff is extremely friendly, have NO attitude, and do great hair. I saw all sorts of people and hair-dos coming and going from the salon - from super conservative to ultra modern. Tracy sat down and actually listened to my hair concerns (including not cutting too much off because I was getting married in 6 weeks) and did a perfect job. Plus, she chatted and had a great time and none of it was forced. I got my wash, cut and blow out for $55! This is THE place to go in the city!!! Pros: Staff, Environment more

I found BIG service at the Little Hair Shoppe 3/18/2005

This salon rocks! I came in there with hair that had not been cut for 3 months and unwashed for 2 days, and came out with a new hairdo with extra volume and edge! Petra, was my stylist and she was absolutely amazing! She knew exactly what kind of cut would fit my hair texture and facial features - and she did it with so much ease that it felt as if she'd been cutting my hair for ages. While at the salon they were kind enough to offer me a drink & chocolate for my walk home. I'm definitely coming back! Pros: service, inexpensive, expertise more

YOu are so great, i'll definatly never let anyone but you cut my hair ever again. I feel soooo beautiful...like i'm complete! - thulinh more

Awesome haircut and Great Staff 3/9/2005

I decided to come to The Little Hair Shoppe after reading all of it's positive reviews here on Citysearch. I had Beau cut my hair and he was awesome-- so friendly, knew exactly what I wanted and all the time he needed to make me look great. I highly recommend this place to anyone, and will definitely be returning myself. more

Amazing 2/26/2005

This place is a tryly awesome find. Not only are the prices great, but the haircuts are too. Christine cut my hair, and she took the somewhat of an idea I had, then worked with it to shape it to my face. The entire staff is just wonderful to be around, and the store itself is too cute. more
