Been coming to Harvey and team for 10 years. Serviced (and helped sell) my classic Jag XJS, then found me (and have serviced) my Range Rover (to fit the new kiddies). Nothing but great things to say. Great mechanics, no bs, no ""surprises"" on the bills (just ask ahead of time for realistic estimate), and nice people. more

I love this garage - they are efficient, knew exactly what to do with my old, unreliable Mercedes and the price point was fair and reasonable. I highly recommend them for any car troubles, particularly for more exotic/foreign cars. They are extremely patient, professional and honest. more

Good and Honest Service 2/2/2011

After many years of owning a Range Rover HSE in New York City you find yourself at odds all the time when it comes to SERVICING your motorcar. That is until I found Sports and Clasics and Harvey Luckman. Having an issue that evidentally the dealer could not fix I located Sports and Classics through the inernet gave them a ring and within a 5 minute conversation I was very comfortable with bringing my Rover to Harvey at Sports and Classics. They were able to diagnos, quote and repair my Rover in a timely and cost effective manner. Far and few between do you come across such professionalism in the automotive repair business. I recomend them to any person with any type of car if you want to have worry free service. Kudos to them at Sports and Classics. more

first time customer, i highly recommend them. 1/29/2011

Wednesday was not a great day for many reasons. There was a huge storm rolling in and there i am driving along in NJ and my Range Rover starts giving problems. The air suspension failed and I can only drive at a max speed of 35mph. It's after 6pm and I'm an hour west of NYC. I quickly lookup a range rover repair shop in Manhattan, (I only just moved there) and I got hold of Harvey, He said he'd hang on until we got there. We got there just after 7pm, just when it started snowing outside. ( we got 19 inches that night). Harvey straight away put me at ease, we discussed what the issues may be. I had already done my research(i'm a bit of a car nut). Harvey even had some of the parts onhand as they often go wrong on these cars. more

Over the last 5 years, ever since my factory warranty expired from Land Rover, I have been taking my car to Sport & Classic, anything from tune up to small accidents, its been an pleasant experience. I deal with Harvey, who then dispatch what needs to be done to the car, and check it himself. He lessens to your concerns, and do is out most to please you as a costumer, one of the reason Sports Classic became my # garage when it pertains to my car. That being said, he has a terrific group of people working with him, and they know anything there is to know about Range, Land, Jaguar and "" luxury cars"". I brought my car after the my warranty expire to the dealer where I bought new, and must admit that although they are great at selling you a vehicle when it comes to service it is a different story, at least that is my experience. more

Not To Be Trusted 1/23/2011

Don't let them fool you. They are higher priced than a Land Rover Dealer. Got $650 for a brake job that Manhattan Land Rover dealer charges $600 for. They worked on a check engine light for over a month with no resolution except for me giving them hundreds of dollars. Again Land Rover Manhattan fixed it in a day. Now the steering gear box they put in a year ago is leaking and needs to be replaced. They danced around the issue and then tried to put me on a guilt trip when I wanted them to replace it for free as they should. I am am writing off that expensive job now too. Don't take the risk of going here. Bring your Land Rover to the dealer that knows what they are doing, uses genuine parts, and is backed by a large company you can go to for help. more

Fantastic Service and Precison 1/7/2011

Rarely is getting one's car serviced actually pleasant. Terrific individuals who take care of not only your car, but you as well. Pick up and delivery make this the ultimate all service shop. more

Honest Mechanics 12/4/2010

Seems to be the first place in the car repair business that i have ever felt confident in. I was worried after the dealer told me I need a bunch of work to be done to pass nNew York state inspection. I went to another dealer and they found more stuff. I googled range rover service in nyc and found this great place. Lots of exotic cars and Rovers of all ages. They put my mind and wallet at ease and did the right thing. I have been their customer for over a year and real happy. more

UES repair shop with great service and excellent prices. 10/4/2010

I have had my car serviced here many times and have always received friendly and fast results. They pick up in my garage - give quote and execute fast, I do not need anything else. Comparing prices for parts - they have been cheaper every time. and if you have 5 minutes take a walk around and enjoy the classic cars. more

Great place for women to have car repaired! 7/14/2010

Had a wonderfuil experence. A great place to have your car fixed. I came in with my 10 year old Jaguar and they looked at it right away. They explained what was needed and I left my baby for them to fix. I just picked it up yesterday. It drives better then it has in years. They cleaned it up for me at no additional charge and recommended work to do in the future. The price was reasonable(I checked it out first)and the traement I got was great(oh by the way I am a women). Its the first time I felt like I wasnt taken for a ride. A great place to see lots of exotic cars. Pros: Nice staff/Great cars Cons: A bit dirty but they are busy more

Best Place to service your Range Rover 7/10/2010

A great place to have your Rover Repaired. Very helpful and knowledgable. They saved me a bunch of money and time. The dealer wanted over $3500.00 to fix my air suspension problem and they told me I only needed a sensor. I had them do that and it worked. They also corrected the check engine light that I have had a problem with since the truck was new. They did it all while I waited and showed me what had to be done. I have been back many times for more work and each time I have had a positive experience! Pros: State-of-the-art Service more

Friendly Staff, but still no luck after $800 inspection 7/3/2010

My Porsche Boxster was starting to smoke from the exhaust. I went to the Porsche dealership and they charged me $200 for an inspection where they then said there were major engine problems and that it would take $10K minimum to fix. I then took it to Sports & Classics Auto repair to scope out how much it would cost to fix it. They looked at the car for a few days and tried testing out the oil/air separator, but still no luck. They confirmed it was an oil leak in the engine and it would take $4K to figure out what's wrong (plus costs depending on the fix) with the max being $12K for a total engine replacement with a used one. I figured it wasn't worth it, but unfortunately, still had to pay an $800 bill for their initial inspection. I think they tried to inspect it thoroughly and thoughtfully, but the bill was much higher than I expected, so you should set the max inspection price before leaving it there. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Expensive more

rare non-idiot car repair! 9/1/2006

Finally, an INDEPENDENT high end car repair place that actually knows what it's doing. Look around the garage and you will see all ages of Bentleys, Rollses, Mercedes and other rare birds, like classic Lincoln suicide-door converts, meaning that their owners believe that this place can fix them. Note, this expertise doesn't come cheap, so bring your best credit card. But consider the location and the countless trips saved to other places that are staffed with orangutang idiots or which just want to sell you parts. Beware especially certain dealers where the repair staff is rewarded on parts sales! SCCL immediately recgnized a problem I had that had baffled at least two other ""authorized dealers"". Talk to Harvey. Pros: knowledge knowledge knowledge Cons: not a fancy, operating-room shop, no place to sit down to wait - no chairs! more
