Great Hair Salon! 4/20/2010

Ever since I moved to Manhattan, I tried several hair salons, but was never completely satisfied until I went to Salon Novella. The staff is always friendly, and I never feel rushed whenever I am there. I get the attention I need and have always felt satisfied with my haircut. I especially recommend John as a hair stylist! My friend recommended Salon Novella to me about a year and half ago and I've been a loyal patron ever since. I'm always happy with my hair style for weeks afterward, and I love the time and attention they put into the shampooing process. \r \r It's a high end spa experience at a reasonable rate. Talk about a salon with people that know what they doing! This is the place to go when you want to walk out of a salon, every single time, feeling great! Starting with John to his staff, they are always professional, courteous and know how to treat a customer. They know when I want to make conversation and when I dont, which is added value to me, as other places sometimes dont get it.\r Pros: Great results, every time! Cons: My hair doesnt grow fast enough to back more often! more

This place is as close to perfect as it gets. Everyone is very friendly & the atmosphere inviting. I always leave knowing that I'm going to be happy with the results of my cut. I also hear the women in there raving about how much they love the job that is done on them & how some of them even go way out of their way just to keep coming back. Pros: Friendly, competent service. Convenient location. more

One of the best Salons in the City 3/5/2010

My hairdresser is like a dream come true! I am so glad I found John who listens to what I want and makes me look beautiful week after week. I have been going to Novella for three years ever since my first haircut with John, now I don’t trust anyone else with my hair. In these tough economic times it is very refreshing to find a salon that doesn't have outrageous prices, have great skills, and a nice environment all at the same time. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for professional stylists who know what they are doing and that will give you what you want without busting your wallet. more

Great staff, reasonable prices, fantastic cut and color 3/3/2010

I've been going to Salon Novella since it opened under Tom and Gina. When your stylist of over 15 years leaves the country, the ""who am I going to find to replace him"" panic sets in. John was the PERFECT replacement! Fantastic businessman, great boss and amazing stylist. It's a pleasure to walk in to the salon and know that you are going to walk out with the exact cut you were looking for. I'd recommend John or any of his staff to someone who is looking for a change from their salon, or if someone is looking for a small business with a huge sense of pride. You will walk out feeling on top of your game because you've got a great cut (or color) that not only changes the way you look, but the way you feel on the inside. Have been going here for 5 years and love Salon Novella (formerly Gina Thomas). Wonderful fun staff and great services. I go quite often for their blowouts (all of the stylists are great) and haircuts (Leanne). Highly reccomend. Pros: great stylists, great location more

Great Haircut from Gina 7/2/2005

I've been looking for a new person to cut my hair for years and haven't found the right person until I saw Gina. I liked my overall style but needed it updated with an edge, that's exactly what she did for me. It's a really good cut too. My hair is very picky if not cut right and I am able to style this with ease. Can't wait to go back! Pros: friendly, skilled, reasonable price more

Gina Thomas is a great place to go for a precision cut at an awesome price! My cut took about a half hour to and was $54. In the past I've averaged about $65-$75 so this was a huge savings to me! Rubens took the time to make sure the cut was perfect. After he dried and styled my hair he went back in with the razor to fine tune and clean any strays. This is my second time there and both times I got exactly what I asked for. A great cut! I'll definitely be back! Pros: Great cut, Relaxing massage/wash, Friendly staff more
