Located in the second largest park in NYC, right near the famous Unisphere, and the Arthur Ashe tennis court, this museum is worth the trip.
The biggest draw here is The Panorama of the City of New York. A to scale representation of the city, almost entirely accurate, it was originally created for the World's Fair in 1964. The walk around the panorama simulates the helicopter ride you could have taken back in 1964, it circles the entire city providing a great view and wonderful opportunity for pictures.
The museum also features other exhibits, including one focusing on Tiffany lamps and windows.
