Great for grooming... 2/9/2012

Rob is the best groomer we have ever used for our little shorkie. She always looks so pretty when I come to pick her up and she is happy and smiling. He is very professional and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. more

FIRST RATE!! 7/18/2011

I've been coming to PetsNYC for about a year and from the moment I walked in the door everyone was really nice and attentive. The groomer (Rob) was so great with my Grace (Yorkie) she was really at ease with him, he has a great manner with her. I had an idea of what I wanted and Rob suggested some things in a not aggressive manner and when she was done with her session, Her cut was FLAWLESS!!...My Grace was REALLY HAPPY...She was excited about her new cut. I've seen Rob on the street with my Grace and she'll run up to him and give him all kinds of love. Now THAT'S someone I can trust my baby with. She's happy, I'm happy. I go to no one else! more

Most Caring Groomer, No Rush, Nice Management 1/6/2011

We just moved to the neighborhood and happened upon Pets Nyc. My Shihtzu is terrified of groomers, but was in serous need. Not once has it been easy and she always came home half traumatized (seriously). After being taken care of by ROB (so sweet!), she was playful, jumping around and looked THE BEST she has ever looked after a grooming. I've never been great at describing what I want in a grooming. Rob made light suggestions, never pushing, and I chose which ones felt right. I'm hooked on Rob at Pets Nyc, especially as my little one came out all happy and proud. What a nice, chill experience with a such a happy outcome (and I found very cool food bowls and other dog needs there as well)! TOTAL Five stars! more

Best place in the city 11/10/2009

I've been going to Pets NYC for a long time and I do not trust anyone else for my cat's care. They offer a great selection of items a pet owner would need as well as the love and compassion!! Pros: Loving staff more

Superb Service 11/29/2008

I just returned from a grooming with Barry at Metropets and he was extremely caring and kind. My dog was nervous and thrashing about a nail clipping and Barry went above and beyond in care, cleanup and patience with my pet. The owner of the shop was also great - he helped me find the right harness and spent extra time sizing it for me and rewarding my pup with treats.\r \r I highly recommend this shop to pet owners in the HK hood.\r \r Thanks guys! I've been taking my littlr yorkie to metro pets for about a year now for grooming and haven't been disappointed once. The groomer, Barry, is wondeful and very caring. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a groomer in that area. more

Great Service from People Who Really Care About Your Pet 7/14/2007

The Staff here is uniformly great, especially Maria, who can give you really good ideas about caring for your cats. They have helped my kitties lose weight and stay healthy, and have given me excellent advice at every turn. Great selection of food and toys, too. Plus, my girls were adoptees from their window back in '02. Just an all-around great neighborhood place. Pros: Friendly, Caring Service Cons: Just Average Value more

Great Dog Clothes & Collars!! 7/1/2007

Really great selection and prices. They also carry the better dogfood brands and are knowlegeable about them. I think they may be getting new management soon, but I really hope they continue carrying the same great brands. Fingers crossed!! Pros: Prices, Variety, Great Staff!! Cons: Changing owners--so who knows what will happen next!! more

Very pleasant place to shop. 1/4/2006

Prior to visiting metropets, I had only ever shopped in Petland stores. Petland has huge stores with basic supplies for fish/snakes/rodents/etc.., and staff that generally is not very helpful or interested. Metropets is dog/cat oriented, with very very friendly, interested staff, and more selection within one area, like carriers. For anything other than food, I will be returning. Pros: staff love animals more

MetroPet Makes Good Neighbors 2/25/2005

Metropets is a sweet store. I shop there often for my own little guy. I like that they donate their front window display space to strays... And really, their prices are always good! I get all kinds of treats there. Flossies and stuff. And the guy behind the counter is always very knowledgeable! Pros: courteous, efficient, smart Cons: busy traffic area more

These folks are just plain good people. They do wonderful work with starys, and other animals that need a good home. Pros: Helpful, Thoughtfull, Caring Cons: slightly higher price more
