This place is anything BUT perfect! 2/4/2012

This place is awful! I just got the worst massage ever! I purchased a Deep tissue Massage at this place through Groupon. Upon arrival, I thought I was in for a good experience. I checked in. They immediately asked me if I wanted some tea. I said sure. While I sat and waited, they brought me a hot cup of green tea. Lovely! Then the experience went downhill. First, they put me in a tiled room that was very obviously for some sort of hydrotherapy spa treatment by the shower heads that were above the massage table. It was about 100 degrees in the room. I asked to move rooms. They moved me. The lady who came in to do my massage kept laughing me and slapping me on the back, saying "too hot! too hot!"... ok, we had a giggle. move on! She proceeded to tell me, in what little English she spoke, how much tension I had in my shoulders. Then, proceeded to avoid my shoulders. She massaged anywhere and everywhere else but not where I most needed it. On top of it, she gave me a Swedish massage when I had booked a Deep Tissue! Then, when the bad, Swedish massage was finally over, she proceeded to tell me that, since I only paid $50 for the massage, I was supposed to give her at least a $20 tip. The audacity!!! I'm normally a very good tipper, but this lady didn't deserve a $20 tip for a bad massage! I would NEVER return there and hope people read this review before wasting their money at this "spa" more

Worst Consumer Experience Ever 8/1/2011

I am not one to right reviews, but this experience was so horrid that I think I owe it to fellow consumers to educate them on this awful establishment. My first trip here I the service was mediocre, but I was enticed by the alluring deal of getting one free massage per a 74 dollar payment once a month. After reiterating the terms back to the owner to make sure I wasn't being duped, I signed up. The membership clearly states that in a medical emergency, membership can be cancelled. Well, a couple months later I had to have surgery unexpectedly. I furnished proof to management (a copy of my hospital record) and they demanded a call from my surgeon and further documentation. They kept asking for more proof until it became ridiculous. I cancelled the credit card that they were charging only to find out that they had stored my debit card number (without my authorization) and started charging that illegally. This establishment needs to be investigated. I couldn't believe the gall, the lack of human respect or consumer etiquette. Do youself a favor...pass them by. The massage isn't even worth it, my masseuse has scaly hands. more

Really a perfect spa get away 7/13/2011

Perfect Spa was an excellent choice and I will definitely be visiting often and making Perfect Spa a regular of mine. I was introduced to this place by stepping into one of their other locations. They have a nail salon also on 72nd st on 2nd avenue and I enjoyed my time there getting my nails done. I decided to get a deep tissue massage at perfect spa. I was welcomed by the receptionist and the place looked very elegant and like an upper class spa. Definitely one of the more affluent spa's in the area. I was introduced to my masseuse i believe his name is louis. This was by far the best massage i have ever gotten. I felt my back was free of knots and my whole body just felt rejuvenated. My shoulders were loose and at the ery end i was able to take a deep breath and say money well spent. I definitely recommend this place. Hope everyone enjoys there time more

Spend your money elsewhere 5/3/2011

I unfortunately could not recommend this spa as they need to improve their customer service, the staff is extremely rude. I was kept waiting on the phone for 10 minutes without apology. When I had a problem the receptionist refused to give her name or put me on to the manger. They have no concept of customer service, spend your money elsewhere. more

Perfectly awesome 12/8/2010

I love this place. It's a good getaway from a hectic day and i enjoy the friendly and professional staff that work here. Their services are clean and thorough and the overall comfort..well I seem to find it here more than anywhere else. I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews but I believe its mostly to do with misunderstandings which can happen anywhere else that runs such a tight ship. The massages here...I've heard stories of some women that travel across the globe and spend X amount of money on massage therapy from Sweden and Japan or whatever...but coming here..feels like you're paying less for an incredible experience. Their packages are great to take advantage of. I did a Getaway ever so often..which includes a massage, facial and a manicure and it feels amazing to know i got everything i wanted ..the people here are great at doing their job...and i dont' feel uncomfortable at all. I'm always going to recommend this place! more

Wish I could give negative stars. One star is giving them too much!! The absolute worst customer experience ever. I believe 100% of the negative reviews. I saw them before I went and figured it would be fine anyway. WORST experience possible. DO NOT go here. This place deserves to go out of business for the way they treat customers. more

Horrendous Customer Service 12/3/2010

I had a great massage yet a horrible experience with owner who refused to accept my coupon. I was treated like a thief and a crook. I will never go back. There are plenty of other great spas in NYC, this isn't one of them. more

PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF - DO NOT GO!!! 11/23/2010

If citysearch could create 'negative' stars, it would be for this establishment! I came in a few weeks ago for a $60 massage special - when I arrived, I was immediately treated like garbage (because I purchased the special and didn't pay full price). IRONIC because if I had known that this dump was the 'SPA' I purchased from, I never would have bought it...but that's besides the point... The owner was a nightmare - even her co-workers were embarassed for her behavior. She started yelling at me when I asked her several questions. She then called me a liar about purchasing the gift certificate and booking my appointment 'the wrong way' (even though she had my appointment on the computer list). I then asked 'How did I book an appointment the wrong way? It is on your schedule." She followed up to that question only by screaming 'You are bad customer'. I mentioned to her that screaming at the customers isn't really the most profitable way to run a business. Needless to say, even though the massage was DECENT, (only decent because the room was disgustingly hot and smelled funny) I had the least relaxing massage of my life. I was so angry and upset that anyone could treat a customer that way - I couldn't even relax! The only redeeming part was the receptionist apologizing for the owner's behavior - she told me that this is pretty normal behavior and completely understands my frustration. Apparently they don't get too many repeat customers! Please spare yourself this experience! Go anywhere else! They are not even conveniently located! more

Great Massage! 11/8/2010

I come here for a massage every few months; I work at a desk and my posture strains my neck and back muscles all day. I have always had a great experience and leave feeling like I'm floating home. It would be nice if the bed was heated, but other than that, it really is a perfect massage! more

Best spa on the Upper East Side 10/28/2010

With so many choices of salons and spas, it's refreshing when you discover a "hidden gem" in the midst of them all. "Perfect Spa" on the Upper Side delivered "excellent" service in an amazing, friendly, relaxing and super clean environment. I left feeling refreshed.....pampered and wanting to return soon. It was a top notch experience. more

Surprisingly GREAT 10/27/2010

I really had a great experience here and was surprised to see bad experiences. I must have gone on a good day but everyone was nice, it was clean, i had a great service. There are so many bad places around and it was refreshing to randomly walk in here and actually get a great manicure. I even added a shoulder rub which was awesome and I never go that extra mile. Great place. I would recommend it. more

New York and Relaxation 10/21/2010

I thoroughly enjoyed coming to this spa. The staff and the services are not only professional but the treatment made me feel like coming into midtown manhattan was a trip out of the city like no other. The friendly atmosphere and the recommendations given here with the most sincerity is very assuring. I feel at peace. I recommend this for regulars or even if you're just stopping into city for a great deep tissue massage or a spa manicure or pedicure ..facials are incredible and healthy and fair for the price i would imagine it's a little pamper treatment you can give yourself. Highly recommend joining their wellness plans..it has helped me save and enjoy a lot of their best services. more

OMG!!! 10/11/2010

I was planning on attending this spa with a girlfriend, when I called to make reservations the young lady did not speak good english, that was okay but she took my info and hung up. A few days later, I called back to change resevations, I knew the policy was 24 Hour notice so I was not worried. I spoke to manager Debbie Kim who got very nasty with me, she was upset that I wanted to reschedule, she told me flat out no and if i decided not to show up, that my card would be charged anyway for being a pain in the ass!! I couldn't believe what i was hearing, she hung up!! I tried calling back and she hung up on me 4 times. I could'nt belive that a spa manager was acting this way on the phone. Don't go to this spa if you want respect and relaxation!! more

i usually don't write this kind of review ... BUT!!!! this place was soooooooooooo great!!!! i went there last Saturday with my boyfriend... and we got couple massage and spa pedi$mani... that massage was best one i've ever got..... and we sat big recliner chair...while pedi mani.... i was like became queen...:) seriously...... and every staff were so kind ...they all smile...offered tea... you should run to this spa.... perfect!!!!! Pros: friendly staff, great massage ever!! more

Does not honor gift certificates 3/3/2010

They would not honor a gift certificate I had purchased. It took 2 phone calls from an executive at Wayspa and an hour and a half of my life to get them to honor the certificate. Then entire time, the owner was mean and crazy and threatened to call the police. I can not even imagine what other patrons thought was going on while the owner was yelling and screaming. Eventually, they honored the gift certificate but it took way too long to calm down the owner to get her to actually listen. Definitely not a calming and spa like experience. DONT GO HERE!!! more

Amazing Perfect!!! 1/22/2010

I had the LaStone Massage with Louis and I cannot go anywhere else. This massage was so incredicble, I booked my next appointment immediately after my massage. The staff is SUPER friendly, the spa is peaceful and relaxing and is immaculate. I cannot wait until next month. You must try the LaStone Massage. Tara F more

you should definitely give this place a chance! 11/19/2009

The massages and facials are great. I usually get both whenever i get the chance to go. I'm a full time medical student, but i try to go to Perfect Spa every two weeks. It helps me relax- a great way to end a stressful week. I usually book a couple of appointments for the future. I highly recommend this Spa- at least go check it out. After fighting with your spouse, taking care of your children, or simply after a stressful day of work or school go get a massage or a facial. You really won't regret it. Pros: It's amazing! more
