I live bi-coastally and could choose any number of dermatologists in on the west coast...but I am utterly loyal to NYDG and Dr. Colbert! I travel there regularly for my skin cancer check-ups, sun damage repair, titans, Triads...you name it and I look MUCH younger and fresher than my actual age! I have been to NYDG quite a few times over the past few years. I have seen Dr. Colbert and he is always very open and to the point which I respect in a doctor. I don't like doctors who joke around too much or don't get to to the issue you are there for. But Dr. Colbert has been great..and he does so many things for others (his work in Haiti) its no wonder people have to wait forever to get in to see him. It's hard not to love Dr. Colbert! I consider him more of an artist than anything else. He's been taking care of my skin for almost 15 years and because of his excellent treatment, I look much younger than my peers. Also I don't look "worked on!" I wish I read the reviews before I went to this place anything written BAD BAD BAD about this place is TRUE. The reason I switched my previous dermatologist is because I moved to Union Square from uptown. So I know of couple NYC dermatologists to compare all were much better and cared more than Dr. Colbert . I had "Dr. Colbert" seeing me for 2 mins and he wrote general prescription any Dr. would write Retin-A and Bleaching agent for my Melasma. His assistant came after he leaves; WITHOUT even cleaning my face (I even had make-up) he tried to squeeze a little pimple-to look like they did something- and afterward he did not even wipe clean with anything! I did not even go in with acne problem but I ended up getting acne after this place. Instead of being Doctors they try to sell you expensive procedures right away. Who knows, maybe they are good with breast implants or big procedures, but they suck if you are looking for a real Doctor instead of a Plastic surgeon. I talked with their customer service and again they were good with BS and sweet talk. It took me more than a month to get the prescription from my pharmacist because the Dr. was on vacation to send a Pre-approval. I tried work through the bad experience I had and be constructive by calling them several time, but decided that I was just wasting my precious time. I have even more BAD to write but I think you get the point. STAY AWAY from their fancy office and BS books, new products and internet appearance. Go to a real Dermatologist or you are even better off with an Esthetician at a Spa! If they can't even follow up with a basic prescription I can't even trust them with serious and a costly procedures that can ruin my face... I went to this place as they were listed as skin specialists under my insurance plan. I was having a reaction to my medication which had triggered an auto-immune reaction in my body. I met with Dr Neha Parikh and she did not bother to ask me any questions or my medical history. She even brushed off any questions I had. And the medication she gave me—Aquaphor. A over the counter cosmetic product one uses for dry skin. She did however note that I have acne on my back and had one of her assistants clean it. Then she stuck some allergy test patch on my back and sent me on my way. The follow-ups were equally bad and time and money consuming. My condition got so bad that I was referred to the head of dermatology in auto-immune diseases at NYU who, after asking the right questions and LISTENING to what I had to say, diagnosed the problem immediately. His treatment cured the ailment in less than a week. I am sure that if you need some acne removed or your crotch lasered and want the assurance of having it done at a place where there are 'doctors' and not just beauty school graduates, this is a good place to do it. Beyond that, go see a real doctor that practices dermatology and doesn't run a glorified beauty parlour. Pros: Easy to get to Cons: Poor Service, Unnecessary procedures, money hungry more

First of all, the space is beautiful. I had Dr. Iyre remove my moles. He was very kind and responsive when I asked questions. In terms of charges, I was billed by my insurance company first, and then NYDG and 'thought' I was getting double charged; however, NYDG was lower and was the only bill I had to pay since I was a good client. So if you think you're getting double charged, you're probably not. NYDG works with your insurance company to lower all fees. :) Pros: good service, great space, they don't charge an arm & a leg Cons: none more

I recently got two very small moles shaved off by Dr. Iyre who was very cold and made my feel rushed. He explained that I'd have to come back to get the second mole removed on another date (this is their trick to charge you DOUBLE as I learned later). I have Blue Cross insurance and ended up paying almost $300 in fees because NYDG mole removal is considered surgery (where's that in the fine print)?! Later, I got TWO bills from NYDG...separate from Blue Cross for $100 for each day I went in to get a mole shaved off. In the end, I shoveled out $500 for something I could gotten done from a primary doctor...heck I probably could have shaved them off myself! Do NOT waste your time or money with these evil greedy doctors! It's been the medical worst experience I've ever had. Pros: the place looks ok Cons: rude doctors, HUGE bills later more

I went to Dr. Colbert a year ago to get information on the procedures available to me to help rid me of that tired look that comes with aging. Dr. Colbert took his time and went through the various procedures. Over the course of the past year, I have had all of the procedures he recommended. I no longer have lines on my forehead, bags under my eyes or a double chin! His less is more technique left me looking completely natural and younger, more alert. I have never waited any longer than I would wait in any other busy doctor?s office. If you want great results, this is the place to go. I have been a patient of Dr. Colbert for over 8 years, even before he moved to his fabulous new digs on Fifth Avenue. He came highly recommended by my friend who had been to "every" dermatologist in NYC for a skin allergy and, who was finally cured because Dr. Colbert instead of prescribing actually took the time and effort to look into his history, do the necessary testing and find an answer. I had a suspect mole on my face that he removed and left no scar! I have continued to see him for various dermatology issues and as I have aged he has helped me maintain a youthful look, through various cosmetic treatments, these came as a suggestion from him with absolutely no pressure. I want to look my best and Dr. Colbert delivers. He has also treated my step daughter for severe acne scars on her cheeks 6 months before her wedding which came out beautifully. He has treated my daughter for horrible acne, we tried several approaches until he found one that finally worked. I have and continued to recommend him to my friends and family. By New York standards Dr. Colbert takes extraordinary time with his patients to discuss treatments and results. His staff are smart and efficient. I had a growth that I was worried about and a friend recommended that I go see Dr. Colbert. I have a really busy schedule and was in and out on my lunch hour. Dr. Colbert knew exactly was what wrong and answered all of my questions and concerns. He removed the growth and sent it to labs for testing. I have to say, I was extremely squeamish about having the growth removed and Dr. Colbert made me feel very calm and the whole experience was painless. I would highly recommend NYDG! more

The first lasering place I tried in New York I made the mistake of not asking if they were using new lasers. ALWAYS ASK THIS! I also didn't ask what the training was of the people behind it -- here you've got Dr. Iyer who is board certified and at the top of his game who will do tattoo removal. They are great for all kinds of lasering, beautiful Fifth Ave location, totally reasonable prices for the service and the quality -- and they beat every other lasering place by a LOT. Love them for all kinds of services (especially their Triad facials) but their lasering is my favorite. Great, great, great for women who want to make sure they are in the hands of the best in the field. I have been a client of Dr Colbert and his his practice for 12 years. I was first treated for pre cancerous cells and I have been treated tremendously by all of the staff since day one. Over the years, Dr Colbert has performed a number of procedures and I am extremely happy with all of the results. His advise is invaluable and he is my trusted guide in the medical field. i went to NYDG based on an article i saw in OPRAH on dr . colbert. i googled their site-watched his interview with matt lauer the today show) and was felt comfortable with his credentials. i had a blue-black tattoo from my back removed with the medlite laser. it was minor pain and the area scabbed a bit. after three treatments i have almost nothing left. i am very satisfied with dr colbert and dr iyer (the other laser derm) my girlfriend also had an ankle tattoo removed and a triad there and loved it. it was a little pricey but better than my experience at nonphysician laser centers. best laser center in manhattan hands down. i recently wanted to upgrade this tired ny face. i saw a piece in OPRAH magazine on this office NYDG. i wanted to shave off a few years. i ended up doing their fifteen minute facelift whichis a combo of botox and juvederm plus a laser fraxel. it was actually fun. they used nerve blocks so it was relatively painless. i had some brusing for a few days but it was worth it! the office was superclean and fresh and the staff genuinely friendly. great experience and great results ac Pros: beautiful office efficient board certified docs nice staff Cons: no easy parking more
