I recently went to Oleg Salon for the first time. I?ve been using a colorist at another salon in the\r
neighborhood for a few years, but Yevka (my former colorist) went to back Russia for several months and I wasn?t sure that I trusted anyone else in her salon. \r
\r
I live on the Upper West Side, so I naturally prefer a salon that?s in my neighborhood. One day I walked past the Oleg Salon, and I couldn?t help but notice the colorist who was working right by the window. I studied her for a good while, putting foils of different colors in the hair of a very pretty young woman. I could tell she had an expert touch with blonde highlights. \r
\r
I introduced myself to the colorist, Mayra Bocanegra, and made an appointment for the next day. Even though I?m going to the beach for memorial day weekend, my husband?s colleague\r
is hosting a cocktail reception in Hyannis on Saturday night, so I needed to touch up my color before the weekend.\r
\r
Usually I have highlights in my hair, but Mayra suggested that I try highlights with a glaze.\r
I didn?t know this, but a glaze is a great way to revitalize highlights and improve hair texture. She explained the glaze is a treatment with grape seed oil derivate and emollients for the hair?s cuticle with a touch of color and shine.\r
\r
I was impressed with Mayra?s knowledge of color chemistry, her mastery of technique and her artistic flair. When I saw my hair after Mayra was finished, I knew that Mayra had delivered on her promise, and the glaze was a great idea. I recommend Mayra to anyone who wants to look great over the Memorial Day holiday!
