I called to make 2 simultaneous appointments for me and a friend. We were trying to make a play in the late afternoon, and the person on the phone couldn't have sighed louder as I tried to come up with a time that would work for us. With so many fantastic salons in the city, why waste our time at a place with no customer service? No thanks. more

Based on all of the reviews I expected a great job on my single process color. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted, articulated it, but the results were far from what I expected. They charged an exorbitant amount, and the finished product was not at all worth it. I wouldn't recommend it. more

When Mayra Bocanegra was the head of the color department at the Mark Dearinger Salon, she did highlights and a glaze for me every three weeks for six years. I?ve been reading some of the other comments about Mayra?s work here on Citysearch, and I just wanted to testify that they are true?Mayra is truly a magjcian with highlights and color. When she moved back to New York a few years ago, I was devastated. I?ve worked with several colorists since then, but no one has been able to match the natural look that Mayra consistently achieved. In fact, I?m actually thinking about taking a job with a New York station just to be closer to Mayra! more

I found this place on citysearch this afternoon. I called to make an appointment and the guy on the phone was very nice and told me i could come over as soon as I can, as they were closing at 7. He could have told me to make an appointment for tomorrow but he didn't. Anyway, I met him when I walk in, what a nice guy!!! Very friendly and I didn't feel like i was in a stuffy salon on the upper west side! I met the waxer, Challa, and she took me downstairs to the ""waxing room"". Which was vey clean!! Now mind you, i have never been waxed besides my eyebrows and she made me laugh and feel very very comfotable! This girl is a doll!!! She let me yell, scream and curse and just laughed at me and with me! All and all it was a great experience and I can't wait to go back (well kinda, if you catch my drift ladies)!!! I?ve been using a colorist at another salon in the\r neighborhood for a few years, but Yevka (my former colorist) went to back Russia for several months and I wasn?t sure that I trusted anyone else in her salon. \r \r I live on the Upper West Side, so I naturally prefer a salon that?s in my neighborhood. One day I walked past the Oleg Salon, and I couldn?t help but notice the colorist who was working right by the window. I studied her for a good while, putting foils of different colors in the hair of a very pretty young woman. I could tell she had an expert touch with blonde highlights. \r \r I introduced myself to the colorist, Mayra Bocanegra, and made an appointment for the next day. Even though I?m going to the beach for memorial day weekend, my husband?s colleague\r is hosting a cocktail reception in Hyannis on Saturday night, so I needed to touch up my color before the weekend.\r \r Usually I have highlights in my hair, but Mayra suggested that I try highlights with a glaze.\r I didn?t know this, but a glaze is a great way to revitalize highlights and improve hair texture. She explained the glaze is a treatment with grape seed oil derivate and emollients for the hair?s cuticle with a touch of color and shine.\r \r I was impressed with Mayra?s knowledge of color chemistry, her mastery of technique and her artistic flair. I was here yesterday and Challa did a fantastic job with my manicure and pedicure. Challa was very professional and my nails look great. She is also very friendly. I highly recommend Challa for your next manicure! more

Was here earlier tonight,got a french manicure and french pedicure.I am really happy with the service challa give,not only is the place beatiful but the challa was nice and carefull.She really do a thorough job on the actual mani and pedi,hate when the nail tech just gets the polish nice but does a really quick job on everything before that.prices are really fair for what she did.Its worth checking them out more

Have tried several places to get my waxing done but the only places that proved to be good were way too expensive.At work people were mentioning this place for threading for eyebrows so I gave them a shot.Place was really busy and a live music,people drinking wine sort of looked like a mini party,lol . They took care of me for brows and bikini wax and were really professional and pain free.For eyebrows,defenetly ask for threading but for body wax,make sure they use the chocolate wax its far less painful.Hard to say a bad thing about this place,they took me on time,did the service and the [price is extremely reasonable considering its the city.Keep up the good work.\r more
