Highlight of my New York holiday- seriously! 10/26/2010

For a typical little cafe, this place ended up one of the highlights to my holiday to New York City! more

Editorial review from GrubHub 11/14/2008

I've only ordered one thing from here, but it was not good. The Grecian Wrap lacked any kind of dressing. Most bites were pretty flavorless, unless I happened to get a bit of feta cheese. The chicken was all to one side of the wrap, not mixed in with the other ingredients. Chicken noodle soup was included and was chopped up oddly and was okay. Maybe some of their other food is good; just don't order this item. more

Best diner food on the east side 11/10/2008

Really good. I have had so many different things there. Ranging from a deliscious burger to a tune melt, to eggs benedict. Although it is pricey, Morning star cafe is quick and you know you are going to get really tasty comfort food. I suggest the Bacon Cheesburger Delux and an order of cheese fries. Pros: Really tasty comfort food Cons: Expensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner more

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? 11/8/2008

read the reviews and wanted to try Morning Star Cafe - anyone that thinks this place serves tasty food doesnt' get out much - and the service (if you're going to wait on tables in nyc it's a good idea to speak/understand english) is really poor - very lame. Don't be fooled by these reviews like I was ... this place is AWFUL at best! more

Diner food. Nuff said. 5/27/2008

Reg diner food. I have to say i was impressed with the egg and spinach w/ feta. It wasn't dry. Thumbs up. Other than that---i can go anywhere for this food. more

Best Eggs on the Planet 4/27/2008

I went to Morningstar 5 times in 2 days, consuming a grand total of four omelettes and a New York wrap. Don't plan on going to Morningstar if you don't want your omelette to arrive within 90 seconds of ordering it and/or you don't want it to taste delicious. If you want something slow and not delicious, go somewhere else. more

Eh 1/29/2007

I've been here a bunch of times, and it's just your average diner. The one thing that is consistant is that my eggs are always pretty oily, which is kind of gross. The homefries are good, and the service is quick. I wouldn't come here if I didn't live around the corner. more

You want it, they have it 1/22/2007

There is not a week that goes by where I don't eat at this diner!!! Its close to my apartment but I think I would take the trip on a Sunday morning even if I lived in Brooklyn! Pros: Staff, Huge Menu, Food Cons: Ambience more

THE BEST DINER IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD! 8/22/2006

I've been going to Morning Star Cafe for years now and it is nothing if not consistent. Consistently GREAT that is! The service is always friendly and attentive, the ambience is classic NYC diner and the food is delicious. The food is always just right. Morning Star is the ulitmate in comfort food. Definitely recommended Pros: Food, Service, Value more
