ok, so we decided to plan a lunch at moonstruck on a friday, it gets so busy so we booked ressies a week in advance. I dont get the fuss, this is just a typical trendy hotspot that is more of a scene than dining. My friend and I were seated promptly and greeted by the nice middle aged greek woman (the owner?) we sit and already we felt rushed, not to mention had catty girls with saks and bergdorf bags checking us out..Hellooooo! this is NOT a club! we order our meals i had the chix souvlaki, were waiting and ARTURO never brought us pickles and slaw, my friend had to ask, twice. he is so lazy, i guess people are more concerned w looks then serving. he was obviously a wanna be actor and model waiting for his shot. once the food came he threw it down and never came back, not once asking how it was. not to mention i had a messy meal and didnt even offer more napkins. i paid w debit and arturo rolled his eyes, he wanted his tip in cash!!!!!!!! whatevz we did but this is a hot spot we wont be frequenting. i hope arturo likes the yogurt sauce under the glass lololol. hes hot but needs an attitude adjustment!! Pros: big generous portions Cons: we need a lil TLC more

  • The Scene
This hotel fits well into its casual neighborhood, convenient to both the East and West sides. Bought by Italy's Jolly Hotel company in 1991, it occupies a handsome Italianate brick building that was constructed in the 1920s. The small, intimate property has developed a unique persona by combining Old World European ambience and personal service with sensible prices.

    The Details
The lobby is nothing short of grand, with its marble floor, magnificent staircase and intricate, glass lighting imported from Murano. The hotel has 252 rooms decorated largely with Italian fabrics and gorgeous, rosewood furnishings, and include marble bathrooms. The Asian-influenced health spa offers shiatsu massage, a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. The Whaler Bar has been open since 1937 and boasts a roaring fireplace in winter. The Cinque Terre restaurant serves Northern Italian cuisine in a stylish setting. Breakfast is served in the Caffè Buongiorno on the mezzanine.
