Faux Glow

I just received the most amazing facial from Liz at Faux Glow. She did the Recharge Signature Facial with a lot of extractions but when she was done I thought my face was going to be all red and spotty, but it was actually glowing. She was very gentle and took her time and went over everything that was going on with my face. She suggested some products for me to try and I've been using them. They have made such a huge improvement. I will be back to see her for sure. more

I went to Liz for a facial here and was incredibly disappointed in the service I experienced. Not only did she keep me waiting for about 25 minutes (even though the place was not busy at all...in fact I think I was the only person there), but she kept leaving the room for incredibly long amounts of time while I laid there waiting, bored out of my mind. She then actually had the nerve to start TALKING ON HER PHONE as she attended to my face.... completely inappropriate. There were pauses in between her actions too which made it seem like she was texting or something. Upon hearing me cough (even though I was already laying down and ready to go), she tried to get me to reschedule my appointment so that I wouldn't get her sick. REALLY? And overall, I wasn't even happy with the facial; she wasn't thorough at ALL with the extractions (in fact, my breakouts were even worse in the days following) and my skin remains just as dry as ever. I don't know if she just wasn't taking me seriously because I had a lifebooker coupon but she was incredibly unprofessional and abrupt....before I had even cleared out my things she was already shuffling the next client into the room with me. I could have been another potential monthly client, but needless to say, I will not be going back there. more

This place is amazing! I went to Liz and she did a great job. She took my pale see through skin and gave it a nice healthy glow! I was amazed! The color lasted for 7 days and everyone complimented me on how natural it looked. I was very happy! The entire staff was so nice! I was so glad I read Citysearch and got the advice to go and try them out. I will be back very soon! Thanks for making me look great! more

I have very fair skin and it's hard for me to find the right self tanner. Well after trying so many places, I finally found the best place in NYC. more

I had a pleasant experience here with everyone and they made me feel very comfortable. I was a little nervous because this was my first time but they explained everything to me over the phone and made sure I prepared correctly. more

Tried multiple times to cancel appointment, called and emailed. No one answered the phones and when I FINALLY got through to someone, it was within the 24 hour period so was charged anyway for appointment that I couldn't make. No offer to reschedule, not flexible at all, very unprofessional. Will never go back. more

I tried out Faux Glow before an event I had. I'm so glad I went there. I booked an appointment online with Liz and she took great care of me. Liz went over colors with me and we decided on a medium shade. The color looked perfect with my skin tone and silver dress I bought. more

I went to FG for an airbrush tan before a cruise. After reading all the great reviews on CS I had full confidence that I would achieve great results. I am pale and wanted a tan complexion. I discussed the color shade with LIZ and we decided to go ahead with the medium dark shade. She assured me that I would be an olive complexion NOT orange! After my session, I was careful not to get wet and I made sure I was fully dry before getting dressed. I went to sleep and woke up the next day and showered. When I took a look in the mirror I was horrified!!!! I looked like an orange with splotches EVERYWHERE.... there were areas where I looked like a zebra... my hands looked ridiculous! I was nearly in tears! I called FG later and they told me to take pictures to send to them so the owner can see. I asked for a refund (the least they can do... $86+$20 tip) and LIZ advised me that refunds are not issued. She told me that the owner maybe would be willing to give me a free tan.... Are you kidding??? I am really going to come back to look like a freak show again.... I don't think so! I had to go and spend another $60 to go over the worst areas with Henna tattoos. I spent a lot of money on my much anticipated vacation to walk around feeling self conscious. To say that It put a damper on my vacation is an understatement.... please brides, vacationers, etc. do not go to FG!!!!!!!! You will be sorry! more

I have been going to Faux Glow for years and they have always been consistent. I try to use the same person each time I go in but if they are not working, I will use someone else, and I always get an even application. more

Well I had two sessions of a full body organic tan about a month apart with two different techs. Even though I asked for the same color, the first time was darker and I did unfortunately have streaks on my thighs,(which I probably should have called about and complained but I didn't.) The second time, as mentioned was much lighter and I was a little disappointed that it looked so similar to a cal tan at a spray booth. For the money it should be cookie cutter application among all the techs and it should be perfect. It has both times been pretty decent but Im going to have a hard time rationalizing spending that kind of money when its so similar to a 25 dollar spray booth. more

been going to Faux for a long time and the spray tan is pretty good. I go to Liz most of the time and she does just as good as the other girls there, but she will do it for $60 if you pay cash...normally $90 so it is a good deal :) The space is a little small and there is not enough room to open the door all the way when you walk in, a little awkward...but how can you beat a $60 tan without having to be in the sun! I came in to get some color because I just got back from my vacation. Liz did an amazing job! She went over colors with me first to pick the right shade and then we went into the room and she sprayed me a very beautiful coco shade - i never tan when i'm outside - I just burn - so this was a pleasant surprise. Look out Faux Glow, I'll be coming back on a weekly visit now that summer is here. Liz thanks for making me feel so great. Pros: Loved my Tan, Great customer service, parking after 7pm more

I don't want to have wrinkles when i get older so I'm staying out of the sun now. I heard about Faux Glow through a friend and I'm so glad she suggested them to me. Not only was it a great place, but everyone was so nice and Rene did a great job on my color. Everyone asked where I just got back from vacation...so I fooled them;) Also it took away the stress of having to worry about getting a suntan while I was away - I just sat under an umbrella and relaxed with a drink and a book! From the minute I stepped inside I knew this was going to be a great place. Everyone was so friendly and Liz went out of her way to make me feel extra special. She gave me the perfect color and it lasted for 9 days (that was an extra perk). I love all the retail products you can buy here - they have some really great handbags and dresses & many other things. The best thing is they were having this great sale. horrible customer service-staff is very unprofessional and rude. tan was nothing special-lots of spots and unnatural. overall i was extremely disappointed. i had high hopes based on the many complimentary reviews but in truth, i was completely unsatisfied and felt like i pretty much just threw my money down the drain. Cons: poor customer service, more
