I found Destiny Spa by meeting the owner at a huge industry event. Linda was gorgeous, personable and had so much attention to details.. She is a healer and a true gem... The spa is a vision of serenity.. The staff is nothing but kind, warm and hands ON. Whats most amazing is the treatments.. the facials are fantastic ... You leave looking 5-10 years younger and its a complete ZEN experience... Run dont walk!!!! You will miss out more

I AM IN S H O C K and left enraged and almost in tears. as you know, you can not post a review without giving it at least one star which is the only reason why this review has a star at all. this business is run like a kindergarden class experiment. the girl at the front desk was absolutely ignorant and when i called to change my appointment time, she told me the manager would have to call me back to "discuss it" like i was in trouble. when i arrived, i felt that something was off, the whole place feels like a cover for something very dark and below the law. my waxer was somehow missing when i arrived and had to be called. when the girl at the front desk called, she acted very strangely on the phone saying that the manager amanda, had told her to call when i arrived. i felt strange but i figured for $40, what the hell. i think simone, the woman who waxed me was on drugs. after explaining to her that i wanted a high v, she whacked into it full brazilian style. she proceeded to spend the next 40 minutes slowly slowly applying the hard wax with no regard to how different sections were going to line up. about 35 minutes in, the girl at the front desk asked her through the door how much longer. simone said she didnt know. then simone asked me to tell her what time it was and must have told me not to worry about 50 times. i could give a sh*t if i ran into someone else's appt - the only things i was worried about was whether i was going to come out looking like i had gotten waxed at sea by a drunken sailor. which i basically did. 15 minutes later, after missing spots, and with two strips of hard wax on me, AMANDA the manager knocked on the door and asked simone if she could speak with her. 10 MINUTES LATER simone had not returned. i was furious. i ripped off the remaining 2 strips myself and got dressed. when i opened the door, i saw simone in the room across the hall with the door open waxing someone's eyebrows!!! she had left me pantless, with my legs spread, wax strips on and neither her nor the manager had told me she was leaving!!! i can not begin to tell you the outrage i feel at the botched job, and at the way i was treated - being left in that room in the middle of my appointment. i have been getting waxed for over 10 years - never in my entire life could i dream up such a terrible experience. Not to mention simone had no game plan with positioning me (ladies you know what im talking about), the wax was not prepared (she spent 30 minutes cooking it while staring into my pantiless nether regions and talking to me), and the wax SUCKS. i came home and had to show a friend so i didnt feel like i was going crazy. UN BELIEVABLE. this business should shut its doors forever. more

first time to an unknow spa for a mani and pedi. i was greeted in a friendly manner and asked if i wanted anything then my tech Clara greeted me and led me to a very comfortable throne like chair, where my tired feet were treated to an hour of splendor! i was never so relaxed in my life. i must say that was the BEST pedicure i have had. the spa was quiet with very relaxing spa music being played. i even fell asleep. but the best surprise was, when Clara and her magic hands massaged my feet. i was in heaven. they have monthy specials which i will soon partake in. i cant wait to return to my destiny. I spent an afternoon here a few weekends ago with a few girl friends, and I can't tell you what a great experience I had. I got the European Facial, which was fantastic. I got complements on my skin for days afterwards. The aesthetician was very knowledgeable and explained every step of the way. A couple of my friends had massages, and swore they were the best they had had in years, if not ever. The staff is friendly, and the owner offers her calming presence and special touch to make the experience even more special. On top of all of this, the prices are amazingly reasonable. Given the location of this spa (Upper East Side, nr Bloomingdale's), I expected more, clearly they're not living up to their potential, nor will they get the clientele this neighborhood brings given their poor service. World's slowest mani/pedi! With so many great spas to visit in NYC, do not waste your time here!! My girlfriend and I decided to book a girl's evening out. My friend was surprised to learn, when making our appointment, there was only one technician. Don't book any plans after your scheduled time here because that one technician takes FOREVER! My appointment was at 4:30, I didn't leave until 2 hours later for a basic mani/pedi! Spa goers with skin that isn't white-bring your own polish, the selection of colors here is minimal and highly disappointing! Not only was the technician slow, she was also quite unprofessional asking my friend to turn the A/C when she was hot, carry my shoes, and put away the nail polishes when we were done. Unbelievable! -Especially since there were two other women working at the spa, I have no idea their roles since they didn't offer any support or help while we were there. If that's not enough, the technician listened in on our conversation which happened to be about my new cell phone; the next thing I knew, the technician brought me her phone and asked me to set up her email, radio and internet service. This, in the middle of my pedicure!! As if the slow service, intrusive technician & lack of variety in polish colors isn't enough, my manicure peeled off three of my fingers the very next day!! It didn't even last long enough for an event I had that weekend and I had to redo them myself-with a much more flattering color of course! This has never happened to me before! In short, I recommend somewhere else for your nails, if you're treating yourself, go somewhere that will actually feel like a treat!!! -this is NOT the place!! This was a special find for me. I had a great girl, Bridgette, she was so attentive to detail and everything was prefect. I had a great mani/pedi. Later I had a deep brazilian wax and I was a little nervous, but realize with Bridgette, there's no need to be, it wasn't painful and turned out fantastic. Thank you so much to everyone there for making that experience so fantastic, I really had a great time. I can't wait to tell my friends and can't wait to go back again. They do not double dip at this spa it is immaculate; very very clean. To top it all off the price is excellent! With all the spas in NYC, Destiny offers the best price and service I highly recommend it! more

I had the pleasure of having a little "bridal spa party" (myself and five friends) the day before my wedding. Most of us went for the "beauty to go" package, and I paid just a little extra to extend the massage to one hour. The massage was the best I have *ever* had - and I recently returned from Thailand, where I also went to a spa! I also had a manicure / pedicure, and a facial. The facial was perfect - thorough, but I had no redness and just looked fresh faced and perfect for my wedding day! All of my friends had a great time too. The spa staff were very warm and friendly, and let us bring in some champagne from the outside to share around. I have since recommended this spa to many friends and plan to return for another massage & facial soon. This spa has great service and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it!
