My name is Jenny Smith my experience at designer loft was one of the most enjoyable part of my wedding planning. Eileen was so patient, since I was a little indecisive, she allowed me whatever I needed to make my final decision on my own. The fitting process was a breeze, my dress was the perfect length and fit. Liz was also wonderful, she helped me choose a veil and jewelry. What a beautiful professional boutique. more

Designer Loft is a nice, quaint boutique with a great variety of dresses. From the minute I walked in the store, the staff was helpful and accommodating, and shopping at Designer Loft was one of the best shopping experiences for bridal gowns that I had. They made me feel like a princess! As I tried on dress after dress the women helping me made me feel stunning and confident in the dresses and even allowed me to take pictures while shopping. I left the store buying the dress of my dreams at a practical price. In New York City, NY Designer Loft is a tremendous bridal boutique and i am so glad i bought my dress from there. With a cozy atmosphere and professional service Designer Loft is the way to go! more

Excellent Service 11/30/2011

I am so glad that I chose Designer Loft to create my dream wedding gown. Staff was incredibly patient and helpful. They incorporated all my quirky details to make it truly my unique gown. My Rosa Clara ballgown was the perfect choice for my Southern themed wedding. And I loved the matching lace jacket that Natasha made for me. I just loved the attention and aura at Designer Loft. This shop will let you feel pampered but not pressured. Will definitely be bringing friends in the future. more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!! 11/26/2011

If you want to feel like a bride when buying your wedding dress and feel secure and confident that you will get the dress you want to wear on your wedding day, DO NOT SHOP AT THIS TERRIBLE STORE! I have never written a review before, but I felt it was necessary in this case because your wedding day is supposed to be special and you should feel like the beautiful bride you are, glowing in the wedding dress you purchased. Unfortunately, due to my terrible experience at Designer Loft, that was not possible for me. I am not a shopper and knew exactly what type of dress I wanted (a simple slip dress made of silk with an open back and no frills or lace), so when I tried on my second dress at Designer Loft, I was happy that I found exactly what I was looking for so quickly and my search could end at the first store I shopped at. Great hidden store- 12/2/2010

I had a great time shopping and finding my ideal wedding gown at Designer Loft. The store is hard to find but worth the effort! First, my consultant, Ellie was so sweet and patient. She really helped me find my dream dress and did not stress me out about my lack of time, yikes my wedding in 3 months! We ended up coming back to my original first choice an organza trumpet with layered custom design. I so love this shop because they respected my needs, my budget and didn't give me a hard sell sales pitch. Really friendly staff. Can't wait to start alterations! Now to find the shoes.... more

They were always patient, never pushy and offered suggestions on the accessories that perfectly complemented the gown. The tailor I worked with, Bossina, is wonderfully talented. Her precision and aesthetic are impeccable and the fittings were really a pleasure. All of the women in the store are really knowledgeable and the atmosphere they have created is so much fun that I had to drag myself away each time. As an extra bonus, they recommended the most fabulous photographer, whose pictures are gorgeous and who worked discretely and tirelessly our entire wedding day. Nice dresses; Frustrating customer services 6/3/2010

Long story short, this was by far the most frustrating part of planning my wedding. Lots of mis-steps by the people working there. My dress came way later thatn they told me it would arrive. They scheduled appointments and canceled and rescheduled so much that they lost my fitting appointments, twice this happened. They were completely unaccommodating with my schedule...this is not the place for someone who works full time. The hours for fittings are not great. And to top it all off. I called fed-up and frustrated one day after a scheduling mis-hap and was speaking to the manager. She was very apologetic for all the problems and assured me that she would personally take care of me the next time I was in. The next time I was in... I saw her...she never even said hi. Great Atmosphere 5/10/2010

After an intense month of bridal shopping, I found a structured, flowy gown at Designer Loft. I had to write about my experience because it was so different from the other Manhattan salons. These ladies were so nice! I worked mainly with one salesperson but at least two or three others all chipped in to help me find a perfect destination gown. They respected my budget and only showed me gowns in my price range. The atmosphere was so relaxed-no sales pressure, just a really fun shopping experience. My sister and I both loved this shop! Had so much fun trying face veils, rock and roll shrugs, big jewels to accessorize my beautiful gown. The selections were really chic and they will customize most dresses. Found a Great Sample Gown-Half Price 1/10/2010

Found an amazing designer gown half price at year end sample sale! Beautiful selection of gowns though you have to hunt in sample sale section. New gowns organized by designer ,but sample sale area more mixed. Also found unique accessories made to match my gown. Their sample sizes actually fit, not all size twos. Shopping was fun and I was really impressed with the selection considering size of store. Final plus, not all the choices are strapless- I actually found a V neck that I love, love, love. Created my dream dress! 1/7/2010

When I fell in love with a sensational silk satin trumpet gown, Designer Loft invited the designer in to make the gown to my specifications. It was an awesome experience! We lowered the back and added some details which made the gown uniquely mine. All the attenttion to detail and staff advice made it easy for me to wear my dream gown. WARNING! Scary Price Inflation!!! 1/5/2010

I stumbled across this shop because of a listing in New York Magazine Weddings. Unlike some of the brides below, I liked the disheveled look of the boutique--it felt like a vintage shop--and I found the people working there to be generally helpful. (Though I wasn't thrilled when my salesgirl told me to stop back for a follow-up, then wasn't there.) I fell in love with a dress that was priced at $1900 and was told there would be a $300 rush fee because my wedding was in three months. After reading the posts here, I decided to check with other shops that carry the same line. Lo and behold, I contacted a shop in Brooklyn--Artemida Wedding Gallery--which said the price for the same dress was $1195, with NO rush fee! When I told the salesgirl at Designer Loft about the HUGE price difference, she said that it surely must be a different fabric (nope) or a counterfeit (please--I found the shop on the designer's own site). She said she would check with her boss and get back to me. I never heard from them again. What a travesty. Thank goodness for these reviews on Citysearch. They saved me $1000, if you factor in the FAKE rush fee! Buyer beware!!! Cons: Dress overpriced by $1000 - and that is not a typo more

Disappointing 12/14/2009

Designer loft had several cancellations the day i came in and i was the last appointment. the woman was cold and rushed because she wanted to go home and she made no secret of it. they put me in a dirty fitting room that was prepared for another customer, carted me off to the "" cheap"" closet where they keep their $2,000- $4,000 dresses. thats a buttload of money to spend to feel like shit. Found my perfect dress 12/11/2009

I searched EVERYWHERE for my bridal gown, and just couldn't find gowns that were unique or different from the ""cookie cutter"" wedding dress that I'd seen over and over. Thank God for Designer Loft! They have a wonderful selection of dresses that are outside the box. I loved several of them, and found my dream dress - such a relief after months of searching. AND they had so many dresses to show me in my price range. Other boutiques had a much more pressured sales approach, but my consultant at Designer Loft wasn't pushy at all, allowed me to take pictues in my favorite dresses, and understood that I needed time to think about such a big decision. I found my AMAZING wedding gown at Designer Loft! 12/5/2009

I would recommend designer loft to any bride searching for her perfect wedding gown. They have a large variety of dresses and at a wide price range. I LOVED MY DRESS! I fealt like a princess in it on my wedding day. I had 5 visits all together from finding my dress to 4 fittings. I always had so much attention given to me during each visit. Eileen was great, she took my measurements perfectly. The only alterations I needed were the hem, train and bustle. My seamstress did a wonderful job too with the alterations. I also found my head piece and veil there. Which I also LOVED! Every appointment at designer loft was so great. This experience made one of the best parts of my wedding journey really wonderful and memorable. Thank you Designer loft and staff!!! more

Found my dream dress! 10/23/2009

I wanted my dress to be unique and original. That is exactly what I found at Designer Loft. Not only is it a design that I have never seen before, but they called in the designer to work with me. She is customizing the gown to incorporate my grandmother""s broach. The staff is really involved in creating my dream dress. The dress is progressing and I am so greatful for the attention to detail. This has been the least stressful part of the wedding planing process.
