Beautiful historic park 11/3/2007

This is indeed one of the most beautiful areas of the city. Incredible views of the Statue of Liberty and the bay. Incredible gardens and memorials. There is an aids memorial garden with literally 1000's of different types of roses. This place has significant meaning to my family as it has a memorial to my Uncle John and his fallen Naval shipmates. Their ship was sunk off the coast during WWII. You will be very moved as you wind your way through the park. As with any memorial location, you will be stirred to tears. But please visit because it is such a lovely, special place. One of New York City's most underrated attractions 2/25/2007

It is amazing how so few people in New York City know Battery Park and appreciate it. It offers nature, a bicycle path, breathtaking views of the Hudson and the Statue Of Liberty, and a piece of calm right in the heart of the financial world. You can just sit back, relax and watch the yachts passing by or have a nice brunch at the World Financial Center. Seeing the 4th of July fireworks roar above the Status of Liberty never gets old! Battery Park is probably the best park for adults in New York City, frequented mostly by those who reside in the area: a nice, hip, polite crowd. Pros: Water views, restaurants with water views, not overly crowded Cons: A little strict on some rules, such as not allowing photography tripods more

sit and relax! 8/6/2002

best place to sit and relax for a while and hopefully one of the street musicians will be around in the park to really add to the atmospere! more
