Bateaux New York: Best dining cruise excperience in NYC 4/5/2011

The Bateaux NY is one of the best dining experiences I have ever had in NYC. I have been on this superb vessel numerous times and it never gets old...only better each time. The food, drinks, service, entertainment is exceptional. The ambiance is exquisite. The cost is very reasonable for the excellent service you receive. My contact at Entertainment Cruises, Inc. is one of a kind. I will only go through her. If you plan on booking this or any other cruise through Entertainment Cruises (because they are all outstanding), make sure you ask for Margaret Stapleton. She has always gone above and beyond to make sure I have the best experience throughout the whole process. I wouldn?t keep going back if it wasn?t for her. more

great for a celebration! 7/29/2009

We celebrated our anniversary with 10 of our family, ages 71 to 11 and all had a great time. The food was excellent, several choices, all delicious. The crew carefully took me aboard in my wheelchair and continued to be attentive. One grandson is a picky eater, so they made him 2 grilled cheese sandwiches! The boat was clean and we had wonderful views while seated. Very comfortable. Rest rooms were very clean, also. The views are so beautiful, the sun was setting, it was the perfect time to sail. We will definitely go again. Pros: Crew is attentive, food excellent Cons: Music was a little loud. more

A Great way to be introduced to NY 7/29/2009

This was our first trip away from our kids since our first was born. It was romantic, a perfect way to view NY as first-timers and we were treated like royalty from the ticket gate to the exit! The food was timely, well presented and so delicious. We took so many pictures of Lady Liberty, the bridges and the skyline. It was by far my favorite part of our entire trip. Did I mention the singer? She looked like Demi Moore and sang Jazz beautifully. The band never missed a note, but being the mother of a pro drummer, I did miss having one. Well worth the money, come on, live it up! Pros: Wonderful food, service and entertainment Cons: What no drummer? more

great for romantic and memorable night 12/24/2008

When I booked a table in Bateaux cruise I expected everything would be perfect because of the price that I paid and almost in all points the restaurant met my expectations.Very nice crowd, pleasant live music and songs, beautiful views of Manhattan at night and GREAT ,simply OUTSTANDING customer service.I may say that the route, music and our waiter Shanwn (I might his name incorrectly) just simply made our night. He was so attentive, polite, and helpful. However, food was so bad that we mostly ate bread and butter instead of our meals.Filet mingon, my favorite dish, was untasty,it either was old or just overcooked(I couldnt find out cause of the sause with which it was covered) and the salmon was also disgusting. I highly recommend this cruise of everyone who whats to have romantic and amazing night but make sure that you eat something before to get on the board. Pros: Service,Manhattan views, live music and ambience Cons: FOOD was just terrible more

Beware of the rigid dress code 9/9/2006

I'm a native New Yorker and despite it being primarily a tourist experience, I've been a fan of the Bateaux for several years as it offers much better quality food and entertainment than the typical rubber chicken dinner cruise. That said, potential guests should be aware that the Bateaux enforces a strict and rather archaic dress code that is not prominently displayed on their website. In a city where only a handful of the finest restaurants still have a strictly-enforced dress code, the Bateaux denied boarding to some of my clients for wearing jeans, and decent ones at that. The fact that they were with a corporate group from an organization that brought them a fair amount of business after 9/11 was not deemed relevant. They exhibited no flexibility in the situation and do not have any sort of ""loaner pants"" available as one might expect given the extremely remote location of the Chelsea Piers, they essentially stranded my clients at the dock. I still think the Bateaux onboard experience is good, but they badly need to better disseminate the dress code rather than rely on people checking 6 layers into their website and they also need to develop a customer service-oriented contingency for this kind of situation, as one would expect at the sort of fine restaurant they aspire to be. Pros: Nice boat, good food, great views Cons: Inflexible and poorly-disseminated dress code, lack of customer service-focused attitude more

Romantic Dinner with Great Vista 10/10/2005

Although slighlty expensive, this venue offers a package deal for dinner and entertainment, with wonderful views of the City, and of the Statue of Liberty. Jazz band and singer, amazing and attentive service, very decent food, and amazing views are worth the dinner prices Pros: Views, Amazing Service, Worth the $$$$ Cons: Check-In Line more
