Took the family to enjoy a "Touristy" thing. Did the Circle line years ago, looked into Cirlce Line and NY Waterways -- and decided to "try these guys". The 90 minute tour was great. Boat was half Full -- all the Top Level seats went first. Beautiful sky. Once the Boat got underway they opened the front to passengers -- forget about the Top Level. As the trip went on passengers moved about and we all had seats of our choosing. Tour Guide was very personable and knowledgeable about the topics he spoke. We all thought the 90 minutes was "Just Right" - and I am glad I did not do the Circle Line 2 hour tour. Bathrooms were disgusting - but thats to be expected I guess. I used the bus they provide to get back into mid-town (saved some cab fare). On board concession stand was limited to beer, soda , water from a plastic cooler. Maybe they had packaged snacks - I didn't notice.
Pros: Duration, Buses, Tour Guide, Cost
Cons: Disgusting Bathrooms

The Black Hills in the North, the Redwoods & the Golden Gate Bridge in the West , the Mississippi Delta in the South, the Archway in St. Louis, and the Statue of Liberty define the boundries of this great country. Shining as bright as the sun does off the cliffs of the Grand Canyon it is truely the World symbol for Freadom. Worth every breath it takes to walk the steps to the top and to enjoy the mueseum where many of our ancesters came through searching for a better life.
Pros: bueatiful folk work, museum of ancestors, night view
Cons: crowded, steep, damp

When searching for good family friendly hotels in New York, we came across a site that listed Bed of Roses as an agency to contact. We worked with Barbara there and have been very impressed with her customer service and prices. For the hotels she works with, she consistently beat the online travel sites with her prices by about 10%! She also handled all interaction with the hotel to arrange for crib, room location, etc.
I will call Barbara first next time we go to New York.

I have gone out before with this company, and have always enjoyed myself, but this year I spent my holiday Thanksgiving dinner aboard the Yacht Manhattan. It was one of the most heart warming experiences that I have had in a long time. The yacht was warm and cozy. The food was delicious and plenty. But the thing that stuck out most is how this company created an atmosphere that felt like family. I was sitting down at a table that had other couples at the table...at first I thought this was intimidating, but within minutes, everyone was laughing, and I felt like I was in the company of friends from the past. The crew had smiles and helped with whatever was needed. This experience was beautiful. Who knew, Thanksgiving on the water in manhattan. The views were stunning. This company has my heart, this is what companies should be like. A half hour into the cruise the boat turned around to go back to the dock to pick up some later comers...we all cheered as the couple jumped aboard....I have never had a company care so much about helping their customers..THANK YOU CLASSIC HARBOR LINE...I am looking forward do cruising more with you, and I am looking forward to having a new experience when your schooner comes down.
Warmly,
A Stunned, satisfied customer.
Pros: Friendly, trained crew, amazing plently food, comfey cozy atmosphere

Tricia is a terrific travel agent. I know it seems like these days you can do it all yourself when it comes to planning a big trip, but when it comes to Southeast Asia, Tricia can offer help to even the most seasoned traveler.
She booked my trip to Bhutan and also to Burma. All the visas were lined up and she provided us with cool lodging ideas. Both countries require guides and she connected us with guides that were neither condescending or boring.
One of the most knowledgeable in her field about Bhutan. She's not interested in sucking your bank account dry, more into getting repeat business through happy customers.

More
The Travel People is a travel agency that from the inside looks like it belongs in Greenwich Village... which is a good thing because it IS in Greenwich Village. In the storefront are artistically pleasing framed pictures of foreign locales taken by professional photographers. The shop's decor looks like it could be the inside of an apartment in the neighborhood.
I mention all this because it is indicative of the way the agents here really know the neighborhood and the clientele. They know that all trips really start from the moment you start to plan them, and they help create that experience from the beginning.
It's a personal touch that is worth any extra cost of planning a trip through a travel agency in the age of internet travel, and is why The Travel People is a great place to plan and book a trip.
