Authentic was so much fun! I wanted a Sunday-only class, and they were the only school that had one. And they were so nice, and open about everything, when I checked them out for the first time. It's like they know the're good, and they don't have to push you into going with them. And so affordable! As for the instructors, well, they have a large staff and they were all fabulous. They were entertaining and informative, all bartenders themselves, and gave you the straight story on things. I learned over 300 drinks, and everything about the business. BEST of all, part of the class was training behind real NY bars. I got to do it for real, and the next day in the classroom I knew just what I had to work on. I came out of Authentic with not just confidence, but experience too! And they wrote me a resume that had real NY credits and references on it from the practice nights, giving me a big advantage over other "beginners". But what I liked best about them was this: when the course was over, they weren't finished with me: they were just beginning. I met with a job counselor who had me right out on interviews, and sat down with me in person whenever I wanted, and guided me every step of the way. I got TIPS certified right on the school premises, for free. I got a job right away at Comfort Zone--their owner came to the school for a job fair, and gave me a tryout the next day, and hired me! And just like that, in three weeks, start to finish, I'm a bartender, having fun and making cash! Thank you to all my friends at Authentic, and to all of you out there: CHECK THEM OUT!!
Pros: price, teachers, job placement
Cons: absolutely nothing
