It took 1.5 hours and the delivery guy forgot my two drinks I ordered. Pizza was tasty but for the price, the delay and poor service it only gets two stars.

Such good pizza! 11/23/2010

The Artichoke pizza is one of my favorites! The crab one comes in at a close second and even the margherita is good! I like this location but I like the one in Chelsea even better because there is room to sit down! The lines get a little crazy but the pizza is definitely worth it! The pizza always tastes fresh and is definitely filling! One of the best places to get pizza in NYC! more

Best Slice You Will Ever Have 11/16/2010

I visit the city a lot with work as well as with friends. I just experienced the best Slice i think i have ever had! I eat a lot of pizza, and by far this is the best!!! It is good after a great time in the city and want a snake, or the night cravings after a club or bar! There is always a wait. But worth the 10 min in line, of fresh Artichoke Pizza!!!!! Regards and Enjoy, Nick more

Not what it use to be 9/30/2010

I loved my first slice here. My 2nd slice was pretty good too and that's when I tried the crab slice (1st day they had it!!) and it was awesome. After the first couple of times, it's gone downhill. I went back and it was just bad. they have nothing on their crab slice now and I know some people like a char (I do too on some stuff), but their artichoke slice just tastes like burnt. The really bad thing is they didn't even leave it in too long because it wasn't that hot. Maybe they need a new oven, or maybe they need to clean it after 50 years. I don't know. more

Irresistable pizza in Manhattan 1/28/2010

Artichoke, literally will get your artery chocked if you consume too much. However, their pizza is like drugs you cannot quit. Unlike other pizzeria, they use cheese cubes on their pizzas! You could smell their pizza from far away. One slice of Artichoke and Spinach is enough to fill you up. I would also recommend trying out their Crab Meat and Margarita slices. What makes this place even better is they open till 4AM! So when you are pissy drunk and hungry, one huge slice of Artichoke will help you recover from hangover faster! Pros: Super size toppings, crispy crust more

incredible 8/18/2009

umm... this pizza has to be the best thing i have ever tasted, you may wait in a line...never more than 15 minutes... but it is worth the wait... beer on tap to go! what!!! thats amazing in itself. then all the different kinds of pizza you mouth can dream of. do your self a favor if you love pizza.... go to artichoke, you will not be disappointed. so good. Pros: the most ridiculous pizza ever...so good, soooo good more

Imitation Crab? 5/5/2009

By all appearances, the crab pizza is now using imitation crab, or at best a combination of real and imitation. The ""crab"" has that telltale red coloring. Pros: Sometimes it really hits the spot Cons: But then I get tired of it... more

A veggie friendly pizza place 4/20/2009

When one walks past Artichoke Basilles they cannot help but notice the tantalizing, mouth water smells that pour out the front doors. Nor can the help but to notice the huge lines that are sometimes over half a block long. I must admit the Artichoke pizza is delicious. Delicious enough to wait in line for 20 min? That I am not sure of. The staff is friendly and two of the three pizza choices are vegetarian friendly. Cons: Always a line! Only three pizza's to choose from more

AWESOME! 2/27/2009

I finally checked this place out after hearing all about it, & now I know why people wait in line. The generously-sized slices here are absolutely delicious. The artichoke/spinach blew me away! It?s made w/ a bechamel or alfredo sauce & is sublimely scrumptious? I?m still dreaming about it. The margherita is excellent & tasty too, not the best in the world that I?ve had ever but definitely incredible & up there (despite an overcooked/slightly burned crust in spots). I need to try the crab that everyone?s raving about but it will be hard to pass up the artichoke/spinach the next time I come here. Now, the lack of indoor eating space is NOT the greatest? even just some more standing/counter space would be cool. Nevertheless, I would definitely wait in line here again for an occasional treat, even in the winter. The employees were quick & friendly. My waistline is happy that I live far away from this place! Pros: PIZZA!!! Generous portions Cons: Lack of sizeable indoor eating area, waiting in line more

Why all the buzz? 2/26/2009

Signature slice was too rich and the crust was more like sour dough bread than pizza. The sicilian slice's crust was burnt and there was so much oil in the making of it that the crust came out fried. I don't understand what all the fuss is about? The only redeeming quality of the pizza was that the sauce was very good, unfortunately all the elements weren't good enough to give it an average rating. more

RICH slice-not for the faint of heart 2/7/2009

So I've been hearing so much about this pleace that I endured the line waited for the infamous artichoke slice. First, it should be renamed the spinach slice because there is a paltry portion of artichoke. Also, it is extreamly rich, heavy and creamy...was able to share with a friend. They have a traditional margarita slice that was very good and I preferred over the artichoke slice. Pros: Worth a try Cons: Small space more

There's a reason for the line 12/9/2008

Something about the crust, the pungency of the sauce, the generous amount of cheese (three kinds, I think), and the very modest price ($3.50 a slice) for what you get has them lining up here at all hours, literally. Quite frequently at 4am on a weekend there is still a line of 10 people leading out of this tiny space down the block. Perhaps it's a marketing technique to keep the place popular--if so it works. I only go there when for some reason the lines are short. But I never regret it. Pros: amazingly succulent slice--among NY's best Cons: long lines at almost all times more
