My wife and I moved into a >100yr old victorian about two years ago. It's a great house, but has needed some work and we've used contractors and tradesmen across a variety of disciplines. Our plumber, Bob Mertz, is without a doubt the class of the bunch. His skill and craftsmanship are second to none, he is always on time, and he takes tremendous pride in his work. Every pipe is straight, every weld clean and even. The job has always been done right, done quickly, and done at a fair price. Bob was particularly exceptional when we needed him to make an emergency visit. Our basement had flooded with sewage in the middle of the night, due to torrential rains and a back up in the line. Bob came at 6:00am on his Saturday morning, took care of everything, and the whole bill came out to just over $100. I was impressed at how careful he was to keep the house clean and impressed by his care in being quiet to avoid waking my year old daughter. He also fixed a cracked water line in my garage for next to nothing and helped me top off over a dozen radiators in my heating system (and explained how everything worked) free of charge. Bob has now done 5 projects for us and we use him exclusively. Negative reviews must have Bob Mertz (Mertz Plumbing & Heating) confused with the other Mertz company. This guy is as good and honest of a plumber as you'd ever hope to find.
