Now I know you have had to hear about this historic toy store. It's only the greatest one of all time. Where not better than in New York City! This three story toy store offers fun for children and people of all ages. If you're buying a scooter or video games, it doesn't matter, they have it all. Play with all of the toys at the store if you want, they don't mind at all, which makes this an awesome place to shop.

Abracadabra is a wonderful place to take your kids on a weekend jaunt to the city. It's filled with magic tricks and practical jokes. Whoopee cushions. Trick cards. Magic wands. My kids come here and get lost for hours. The owner is also very nice and sometimes performs tricks for the kids. Try leaving the store without buying something.

I LOVE this store. First of all it looks great. The food is fab, and the staff was fantastic. I was looking for my first project yarn and I came in on a really busy day (Saturday - duh, didn't know) but the manager took me all over the store and helped me pick out my very first yarn. I signed up for a class and I can't wait to come again. Two knitter's thumbs up!
Pros: great staff
Cons: kind of crowded on a Saturday. Hard to move around

I love this place. It is located on the corner of B'way and 112th Street. It's a decent size, plenty large for me to push my stroller inside. The books are well organized and priced right, and there is a good selection. The staff is always friendly. There is an incentive where you buy a certain number of books and then get a percentage of your total off of a future purchase. I believe that they also do a story hour. Great place for the litte ones!

The show was so much fun. Sam is entertaining and funny at the same time. The tricks were mind boggling! I almost volunteered and wish I had. My son had a chance to get on stage and loved it. If you are a magic fan, especially a mentalism fan, then you will love this show. The seating was very good. I sat towards the back. But I could see everything. Sam also walks around during the show. My one criticism is that he should have shows more frequently. He only performs on Saturdays and Tuesdays. The show is well worth it.
Pros: great magic tricks, Sam is funny
Cons: the show needs to be every day!

What a lovely and intimate book store! I've shopped there multiple times for birthday gifts for my nieces and nephews and each time the sales associates are able to guide me to the best books based upon the child's reading level and preferences. The sales people are very friendly and knowledgeable- they have read many of the children's/young adult books and provide great insight into what kids are into these days and what is a good read. As for my purchases, I've had many enjoyable conversations with my nieces/nephews, always telling me how much fun and interesting the books are.
Pros: Very attentive staff, wonderful handpicked selection and fun cupcake cafe attached
Cons: There could be a bit more of a selection

We desperately needed an obscure part for a hand-me-down crib we just got. A friend suggested we call Albee's. Not only did they find the exact part in one of their many little stashes of miscellanous parts but they gave it to us for free even though we hadn't bought our crib (or anything else for that matter) from them. We will definitely buy from them in the future. What a different experience we had at Albee's than at the big boxes like Babies R Us. Thank you Albee!
Pros: Amazing customer service; wide variety of top quality products; highly knowledgeable staff; like an old-fashioned hardware store that always has even the most obscure parts
Cons: Their baby registry isn't automated or available on-line so we opted to go to one of the big boxes to make it easier for our friends & families. Wish they were open later in evenings and on Sunda

This is the place to go when your inner Batman takes over. The store is jam-packed with really great comic book stuff for the collector as well as the casual fan. I dropped in recently to just browse and ended up walking out with some really terrific Wonder Woman and Spiderman banks.
